It seemed like every round the guy I wanted would go one or two picks before mine. It was killing me. I barely missed out on Steven Jackson & Beanie Wells, and stupidly I decided to keep holding off on Hightower hoping I could snag him later. I also should have drafted a RB instead of Boldin, and drafted Miller too high. I'll make the best of it though.
just did my first fantasy draft ever. 10 teams. got screwed up a bit because had like 4 teams missing and the autopick started selecting defenses and kickers kind of early. heres how my team shaked out. oh ya i was #1 overall. QB- Tony Romo QB- Matt Schaub WR- Roddy White WR- Jeremy Maclin WR- Mike-Sims Walker WR- Robert Meachem RB- Adrian Peterson RB- LeSean McCoy TE- Antonio Gates BN- Tim Hightower BN- Jordy Nelson BN- AJ Green BN- CJ Spiller BN- Darren Sproles BN- Christian Ponder K- Billy Cundiff K- Jay Feely DEF- New Orleans DEF- Kansas City
12 team PPR league i had 7th pick QB Romo, Kolb RB MJD, Benson, Hightower, Spiller, Tate WR Fitz, Holmes, A.J. Green, Sims Walker, Hines Ward, Eddie Royal TE Gates D/ST NYG K Vinatieri
Here's my team. Keep in mind that this is a 14 team league PPR. Star: 1 qb, 2 rb, 3 wr, 1 te, 1 flex, 1 k, 1 d. Josh Freeman Lesean Mccoy Ryan Mattews Jonathan Stewart Roy Helu Kendall Hunter Dexter McCluster Mike Wallace Mario Manningham Santana Moss Harry Douglas Brandon Gibson Mike Williams (sea) Brian Hartline Darius Heyward-Bey Lance Kendricks Joel Dressen Shaun Suisham Detroit How did I do?
12 team league 1 point PPR QB: Aaron Rodgers WR: Hakeem Nicks WR: Steve Johnson RB: Matt Forte RB: LeSean McCoy TE: Antonio Gates W/R: Lee Evans DEF: Green Bay BN: Plaxico Burress BN: Danny Woodhead BN: Mike Thomas BN: Willis McGahee BN: Rob Gronkowski* BN: Ben Tate BN: Rashad Jennings* *Will drop for Lance Kendricks and Davone Bess or Steve Smith (CAR) or Malcom Floyd or Michael Bush
I'd get rid of plaxico and jennings and then get kengrick and devone bess. Bush might be a good choic too depending on how the injury shakes out with mcfadden.
Dang, what. You really hate Plaxico, huh? haha I've never been in a 14 team league, so I'm not sure how you did. Looks good to me though. 3 decent players deep in RB and WR. Sleeper TE and great value QB. If he's available, I'd probably drop Dreesen for James Casey. I think Kubiak has a lot of plays for him that he did not want to show in the preseason.
I hope I did good this year. I've spent several years trying to figure this out and this year I finally did extensive research and tried to really waste no picks.
Fail. You'd be better off drafting Chaz Schilens, at least he has a couple nice games before breaking his leg. The Raiders have an extremely average QB, an extremely below average group of receivers, and now are without a legitimate TE threat. I really don't see anybody emerging and catching more than 50 balls in that offense, the WR position is loaded with Al Davis scholarship guys, late round surprises, That guy they for some reason took 7th overall even though he can't play the WR position, and Derek friggin Hagan of all people. So you have Darrius Heyward-Bey, 7th overall pick, piece of ****. Shows flashes of improvement season to season, I know you're probably looking at the whole "3rd year WR" thing, but I'm here to tell you that stat really is meaningless. Most of the players we've seen emerge as legitimate options in fantasy have shown their promise almost immediately, while the late bloomers and the out-of-nowhere guys are everywhere. The only guy I can think of off the top of my head is a clear cut "3rd year blossom WR" is Roddy White. He looked like dog**** for 2 years with Vick, then suddenly he was a beast. Heyward-Bey can't play WR, he runs deep routes, he can even use his speed to get open, but he can only run a go route and a curl right now as far as I can tell. Campbell will throw the obligatory deep ball to him at least once a game, with maybe a 1 percent success rate. I have never seen anything special about this dude and I think he will be out of the league by 2013. But even if Heyward-Bey somehow turned decent there is a complete logjam at WR. The Raiders have assembled like 5 other WRs with late round picks over the past couple of seasons that all have potential to be decent, Ford, Murphy, Schilens, and now 5th round rookie Denarius Moore will all get their chances. Schilens always looks the most impressive, but he's as fragile as a glass kitten.
LOL, I didn't even go into the draft with bey as a potential pick, but at the last minute I read on rotowire that he was the number 1 wr (for now). But I do bow to your knowledge of the subject, raider nation.
Yeah he'll be starting, but pay attention to how many games he'll end up finishing, because it won't be many. Like I said, this guy is a joke. He's a good dude and he does put in work, but he just doesn't have "it"
1st league is a Non-PPR league with no keepers. I had the 11th pick out of 12 teams. QB: Stafford RB: Mendenhall, Best, Lynch, Wells WR: Cal Johnson, VJax, Bowe, L Moore, L Evans TE: J Finley, L Kendricks K: Gostkowski DST: Lions 2nd league is a PPR league with 2 keepers. I had the 4th pick in this draft out of 12 teams. QB: Stafford, Bradford RB: Rice (keeper), Jones-Drew (keeper), D Williams, CJ Spiller WR: Nicks, M Williams(TB), Britt, L Moore, AJ Green TE: Kendricks K: Hanson DST: Patriots
10 team keeper league (3 players a year, must be different positions) Got my team last night. Got scrreeewwweeed on QBs…my buddy openly cockblocked me and I couldn’t stomach the likes of Eli or Cutler. C Johnson, R Mendenhall, F Jones, K Moreno L Fitzgerald, D Bryant, S Johnson, C Ochocinco-Johnson, J Ford A Gates, O Daniels K Kolb, K Orton (I just puked in a trashcan again) Packers D/ST N Kaeding If a QB comes out of left field, hopefully I can catch him on the waiver wire. Otherwise…..I like this squad. Very little in terms of “if he can _____, he should be good” types. All the starters (minus QB) should be money in the bank.
League Type: Friends Draft: Live 12 Teams Non PPR Draft Slot: 5th QB: Stafford / Cutler RB: Chris Johnson / Forte / Best / Bush / Starks WR: Calvin Johnson / Mike Williams / Stevie Johnson / Malcom Floyd TE: Olsen/Pettigrew K: Matt Prater DEF : San Diego Not sure about this team. QB and TE both look bad to me. Any advice on how I could improve? Thanks.
I think Stafford stays healthy this year. If he does you're good at QB. Good 1-2 punch at RB and Best for back up is great if he stays healthy. Amazing lineup at WR!!! TE's is a weak spot but Olsen has potential to break out. I would look for Kendricks off waivers if he is there. Bradford will love having a pass catching TE this year. Very solid draft overall.
umm not entirely sure, its a league with a bunch of friends, a couple of their wives are in it too, so who knows how much they knew. one of them was drafting a lot of bears players because thats her team, that helped.
I'll say peterson, mccoy and roddy?? i mean to have any one of those three slip into the third round is straight lunacy even in a 10 team league
