Every year teams are crowned as up and coming, new hot young teams. Prior to the deterioration Brandon Roy's knees, and Greg Oden chronic aging it was Portland. Then it shifted to OKC who became legitimate, and passed to Golden State. However now its not so clear cut. You have teams like Sacramento with all the talent and but haven't made strides, then Minnesota can't stay healthy. Looking at this past draft I sort of see a team flying under the radar, the Detroit Pistons.

They have consistently been the best of the worst in the East and are about to shed their bad contracts this year (Stuckey, Villanueva). They also have promising big men in Drummond and Monroe having decent guard play now with Pope's Knight.

Next year draft is going to be game changing and could position some of the bottom dwellers.

    Honourable mention

    Orlando

Pistons are going to be good soon. I love the Pope addition. He's one of the safer picks IMO, although you never know.

I was a bit scared that they might end up overpaying Mayo or Monta this summer a la Ben Gordon. Now it's probably not happening.

Knight/Pope/Monroe/Drummond should be very good soon.
