Still need the Giants and Dodgers to lose one more going into their series.

That would be greedy... they freaking did their job.

There's nothing better than hearing these cubs announcers in despair.

At this point, I'll take a 1 game playoff w/ anybody if the Rocket is on the mound.

Sure, it would be nice to win outright... but if it comes down to that, I like our chances.

Man I actually had to do some work and missed the bottom of the 12th. I would have loved to hear the Cubs announcers as the last out was made :D

This was about as demoralizing a loss as the loss last week they had to the Mets!

    Nick,

If the Giants and Dodgers go into their final series with the same number of losses, it could be bad for the Astros.

Then the Giants could sweep the Dodgers and both would be in the playoffs.

Well, obviously I'm assuming the giants will lose another game... given that they're 1 game ahead of us in the loss column.

If the giants win out... they're in... it doesn't matter who they beat, or who we beat.

AND... if we all tie (LA, SF, whoever), there will still be a playoff no matter what.

I think I might head out to PetCo tonight to cheer on the home team(in my Astros shirt of course)!! I've gone before, but I've never really had my heart into rooting for them since I feel as though it is somehow cheating on the Astros even though the Pads are playing someone else. Now I can say with all my heart ... GO PADRES!!

if the giants lose and the dodgers win tonight, will that mean that the dodger series will mean nothing? I would rather the dodgers go into that series playing for something than to have already clinched.

and on a sidenote, I wonder if the braves are going to lay down for the cubs. I hope they throw out their top dogs in that series because the rockies are going to play loose and free against us.
