1, maybe 2 loss. I think we're putting too much focus on our average QB. Lets not forget our D and RBs. Before we lost Schaub, I was predicting 1 loss. We might lose one more.
ascaptjack beat me to it - but you can't continue to live in this bubble. Foster missed 2.5 games; Johnson 6; Schaub 6. And the offense, thus far, has mostly hummed right along without missing a beat. And you want to denigrate the coaching? Really? Who's holding this together, Rocket River? If there wasn't a lot of water under Kubiak's bridge; if this wasn't an unprecedented sixth season... people would be flipping out at what a terrific coaching job he's done this season, getting this injury-riddled team to 7-3. If they finish 10-6, no one better b**** or call for his job or I will literally kill Groogux.
I never said I would be satisfied but I would certainly not be disappointed. Last year was totally different.
Sorry, but the hating on Kubiak's gotta stop at this point. How many people would have believed it if anyone had predicted that the Texans would lose Mario for the season, Arian Foster for the first few games, and Andre Johnson for an extended stretch and still be 7-3? That doesn't happen without darn good coaching on both sides of the ball. Wade gets his props, but Kubiak has given us the best offensive line and running game in all of football. The only thing left to complain about really is his challenge flag record, and if that's all we can complain about, you'd better believe we have a pretty danged good head coach. If the Texans finish with an 11-5 record or better (which I fully expect them to), Kubiak should be a fully deserving front runner for coach of the year. Yes, I wanted him gone after last year too. But he has certainly, absolutely earned his props this season.
Too bad I can't rep this post. If Bill Cower coached this team to 7-3 while losing Mario, AJ, Foster, Manning, and Sharpton for extended time, everyone here would be calling him the greatest coach in the history of the NFL. You wouldn't be hearing any nonsense about easy schedules either.
6-0... Texans Defense will continue to tear up the opposing team's offense.. Leinert just needs to manage the game and not turn the ball over.
I actually still think they can go undefeated. They have been blowing teams out with Schaub. I still expect wins with Lienart, just not by as much. The Cincy game bothers me the most, thats the only one I see them possibly losing. The playoffs are another story, I think they may have a very tough time
I don't want to predict a record for the final 6 games. I just want to see Leinart play a solid style of football, with minimal mistakes, and a cool head. If he can do that, I still feel good about this team, and where they are headed.
after the initial shock of Schaub's injury, I feel comfortable that we can go 4-2. A loss to Cincy and a loss to the Titans (only because seeding will already have been determined and we rest our starters).
The accuracy of predictions is dependent on how Lienart and the team responds to the loss of Schaub. I think we will all have a better picture after the Jax game. Right now, I am in a range of 6-0 to 0-6 and, seriously, either one is possible.
Honestly I think we're capable of beating every team left on the schedule. There aren't really any teams that "scare" me and here's why... The only 2 teams that are maybe a threat would be Atlanta and Cincinnati. But get this, Atlanta has only beaten one opponent that is over .500 and that was Detroit. They lost to Chicago, Tampa, Green Bay, and New Orleans. Their wins came against Philly, Seattle, Carolina, Detroit, and Indy. I mean come on they haven't really beaten a GOOD team. Now Cincinnati is kinda in the same boat. The only team they have beaten above .500 was Buffalo. They've beaten Cleveland, Buffalo, Jacksonville, Indy, Seattle, and Tennessee. They've lost to Denver, San Francisco, and Pittsburgh. Also their wins were hardly from convincing as well. I have the feeling that once Atlanta and Cincy come up against us they are gonna be in for a shock against our defense. Like I said both of those teams haven't really beaten a team with a GOOD defense. Keep in mind that Cincy's QB is a rookie... So when he comes up against our defense which is 1st in the NFL, he'll get hammered. Now, the other teams we have to play (Jacksonville, Carolina, Indy, Tennessee) they don't scare me. Even with Leinart we should be able to beat them pretty convincingly. Now with that said, these are the Texans we're talking about and they have a track record of screwing up somewhere. So while I still firmly believe that we will go undefeated we are probably gonna mess up somewhere on one game, most likely either Cincy or Atlanta. So here it is: 12-4 with a bye and we will be hosting our first playoff game. Get ready for the ride!!! Spoiler Everything can change with injuries so here's hoping to no more injuries...
The only 1 team that is maybe a threat would be Houston. But get this, Houston has only beaten one opponent that is over .500 and that was Pittsburgh. They lost to Oakland, Baltimore, and New Orleans. Their other wins came against Miami, Tennessee, Jacksonville, Cleveland, Tampa Bay, and Indy. I mean come on they haven't really beaten one GOOD team when healthy. I have the feeling that once Houston come up against Atlanta or Cincinnati they are gonna be in for a shock against their defense. Like I said they haven't really beaten a team with a GOOD healthy defense. Keep in mind that Houston's QB is a backup who failed in the past... So when he comes up against Cincinnati or Atlanta's defense which is 2nd & 3rd against the run in the NFL, he'll get hammered.
As long as Leinart doesn't turn the ball over (fumble, pick 6, or int), then the Texans have a chance to win every single game. You better believe the defense is going out there and play like rabid animals - they know what's at stake.
