Put your money where your mouth is. I will pledge 25 bucks to the tip jar if Howard does not average 17 and 7 this year providing he plays all year for the Rockets. Will you make the same pledge if he does?

Hey - I am not a Howard fan - in fact I admitted a long time ago that the Rox will still have the 2nd best PF on the floor most nights - but I recognize that he is a decent player.

Yes... he IS (or WAS) overhyped

Yes... having him on the team with Mo T and Spoon is terribly redundant (although he makes less money than those 2)

Yes... we could use a robert Horry TYPE player (NOT old-bones Horry)... EVERY team could use a player like that

but lighten up on the guy... he will have a hard time covering Duncan, Garnett, Dirk and Wallace (Malone's retiring), but Yao will be dominating the other team's center so his man will have to play off on him to help double Yao

I think you have that backwards... you pledge if Howard doesn't make 17 and 7 (at least) and tinman pledges if he does

    Crash,
He will average less than 17pts and 7 rebounds this year. Granted he has to play 90% of the season and not get traded.

Sincerely, can anyone look me in the eye and tell me that honor really exists in a capitalist economy or system?

America is the greatest country on earth but when it comes to monetary issues and capitalism, honor gets thrown out out of the window at least 7 out of ten times.

So please lets do away with the self righteous rubbish.

Is in any society honor is not a product of the system but a product of each individuals character.

There is, with out any doubt, honarable men in our capitalistic society.

    FengSui,

Carlos Boozer was merely snatching the peeble out of Clevelands hands. He was just doing what his master taught him.

Ok 20 bucks to the TipJar, the loser has to donate.

Juwan has to average for you to win:

    17pts or higher
    AND
    7 boards or higher

so if he averages 2pts and 20boards, I'd win.
if he averages 16pts and 6 boards, I'd win.

IF Juwan gets traded from the Rockets, then the Houston Rockets win.

    I beg to differ.

I society that promotes individuality, me-first mentality, get rich or die trying mind sets, etc. will result in producing individuals with less honorable characters.

Everybody has a price (as they say). The bar is just higher for some than others.

Does anybody know if Cleveland does match Boozers offer (dumping salary), can they trade him then, or do they have to wait 60 days?

maybe becuase they have gooden already at the PF.. oh yah, and i think they drafted some guy named Dwight Howard. this makes juwan howard expendible. and honestly, for the numbers he gives, his contract is not that bad. He is solid.

It should be readily apparent to most any marginal NBA fan that any player who can consistently average 18 and 7 over the course of a 10 year career is not a scrub. Regardless of the teams he has played for or against.

Players who can not play, do not stay...in the NBA...for 10 years.

    Is he a superstar? No.
Was he worth $100 million? No
    Is he a scrub? No.

Is he a solid, smart, consistent contributor? Yes.

Will the PF tandem of Howard and MoT be enough? I hope so, I'm a Rocket fan.

    Well Shiver me timbers Eyhab!

I guess we'll dump Juwan once we draft any unproven high school power forward. Maybe if we can send Juwan to Philly to get Kenny Thomas. Can you imagine if Philly had Big Dog Robinson and Juwan Howard???
That's half the NBAs all-time most overrated players ever!

I don't know how many deals you've actually done, but 95% of the clients that I do business with act honorably, and the other 5% of the time we don't do business with them anymore. Based on the particular wording of your post, I get the impression that you have very little real world experience in business.

Why does tinman not simply admit that he does not like Howard? That will save all the arguments back and forth, and he wouldn't need to embarrass himself saying things like above. I mean, he is talking about the number 1 pick here, chosen above Okafor, I might add. ANY team who chose such a player would trade a 31 year old to allow him more playing time.
I just want to add that in my opinion, Howard is way better than Mo T. I'm glad we have this guy on our team, and I don't think he is overpaid, as long as he produces those numbers (although, with the way our offence will likely be structured, he'll most likely not produce that much on our team).
Heck, look at the money being offered players like Mehmet Okur and Adonal Foyle!!! These are certainly inferior players to Juwan Howard.
