On NPR this morning they said that the Taliban have posted a message on a website claiming responsibility. They didn't have too many details though.

Claiming responsibility for a failure? That seems a little counterproductive.

Anybody else concerned about the TSA's goof in letting this guy on the plane in the first place?

They put you through these long lines for security screening, but they are unable detect explosives in this guy's pants.

The guy boarded the plane in Amsterdam so TSA isn't at fault.

I'm surprised no one is calling out the US Embassy in Nigeria. The idiot that has just effed things up for all Nigerians should never have received the Visa in the first place. His dad warned the authorities at the embassy a while back and no one took him seriously.
That says a lot about embassy officials.

I'm hearing that the first person who noticed what was going on is a guy named Syed Jafry. That's nearly identical with my first & last name

i've figured out the terrorists real plot. it's not to strike fear into americans who fly. it's to make flying as annoying as possible.

Anywhere else other than AMSTERDAM, the bomb would have went off. They probably thought he was trying to light a joint. "No dude, you can't smoke on the plane!!!"

My son and I flew to NYC last month and they threw away our toothpaste because they were over the 3.2 oz limit but they left my son's pocket knife alone in his carry-on.

    Nice...

I was supposed korea, but at the last moment I had to cancel and asked them to take my luggage out. They told me they would take my luggage out because it was against faa regulations, but I don't think they did and it took a few days before getting my luggage back.

Apparently another Nigerian man had locked himself in the bathroom on the same flight today.

Nigerian taken into custody after locking himself in plane’s bathroom

    BREAKING NEWS

DETROIT - A passenger onboard the same Northwest Airlines flight that was attacked on Christmas Day was taken into custody in Detroit on Sunday after becoming verbally disruptive upon landing, officials said.

A law enforcement official said the man was Nigerian and had locked himself in the airliner's bathroom. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation was ongoing.

Delta Air Lines spokeswoman Susan Elliott said crew members requested that security remove the man from Flight 253 after he became disruptive. The remaining 255 passengers got off safely, she said.

That thought occured to me but if you had a severe case of the runs for an hour straight wouldn't you pass out from dehydration?
