Can't we just all assume Steve Franchise will come back to his old Houston days starting at PG for us and Aaron Brooks will be improving a lot...instead of having Rafer's ass on the court for 40 mins a game...

no offense to Rafer but since when is a player of Rafer's quality(or suxness) on a championship team?

Lets trade for a wing player for our big trade! E.g. Michael Redd

Here's my trade. But it has to be before the deadline using Woods and Harris' contracts.

We send BJax, Hayes, Luther, Francis, Woods, Harris, plus a first rounder, plus possibly Donte Greene to Sacramento for Artest and Kenny Thomas.

Otherwise, combine some of our expiring deals for Damon Jones contract. Then use Jones and Jackson's contracts along with Hayes and whatever other expirings we have left on the roster to get Artest and Tomas at the deadline.

Lets get Brad Miller, Josh Howard, and Shawne Williams. We could be the All-NBA Reefer team.

I would agree with you Nocioni or even Delfino.I would really like JR Smith, i think he is even more attainable than Posey. Can shoot the three, play defense, and take it to the hole. The thing i think people dont understand or take into consideration is that T-Mac and Yao need to stay healthy, the last few years the absence of them in the line up is the reason we haven't been successful. I dont agree that pg is our weakest position, why does everyone want Billups? why doesn't detroit want him? this year was supposed to be his best year in the league for billipus but they want his head in detroit. Rafer picked up his game in the 2nd half of the season and his shooting percentage was better even from 3pt range. My issue is that Mcgrady needs to work on his free throw and his defense. The coaching staff needs to work on the problem areas, develop brook's/novak's game. Sign landry or trade his ass for a viable player, he really played his ass off last year and deserves a raise give it to him. Our rockets are a good team and by the addition of Barry that is a plus. Just need to work on their team play and their individual weaknesses and its up to the coaching staff to get that message across. I believe the players that should be let go are Mutumbo, Head, & Woods. While i like Deke i believe he his only asset is defense and i would rather have Mike Harris on the team instaed of Deke and as far as a backup c they can utilize Hayes/Scola/Dorsey for that. Head can shoot, but his D is suspect sometime and he makes bad decisions often and still is unable to pass into the post and you need that with Yao in the line up. Woods too skinny, and not worth a roster spot.

    Alston/Francis/Brooks
    McGrady/Jackson
    Battier/Barry/Novak
    Scola/Landry/Harris
    Yao/Hayes/Dorsey

Free agent i would covit most would be JR Smith....for Jackson & Head.

    Go Rockets.

Arroyo may be an option but not as a starter. Telfair hasn't really done anything to get exited about, he was way overhyped but hasn't even come close to being a solid PG.

Whats with the hate on Redd? A good shooter/slasher would thrive in this system. He is on the olympic team for a reason.

The more I think about it, the more I believe Billups has to be the price.

Jackson, Francis, Head, Brooks, a first-rounder and a second-rounder....would that be something they might even consider?

Or: Harris, Head, Francis, Alston, a first-rounder and a second-rounder for Billups...

And then turn around and trade BJax, Hayes and a second-rounder for Camby.

Then trade something (a second-rounder or so) for Lowry or Crittenton.

Then sign on Horry and Cassell.

Would leave us with a pretty old team (which I'd like, though):

    PG: Billups, [Lowry], Cassell
    SG: McGrady, Barry, Greene
    SF: Battier, Novak, Horry
    PF: Scola, [Landry], Dorsey
    C: Yao, Camby, [Mutombo]

    Hey, I can dream, can't I .

    Or:

    Houston Trade Breakdown
Change in Team Outlook: 0.0 ppg, 0.0 rpg, and 0.0 apg.
    Incoming Players
    Allen Iverson
    6-0 SG from Georgetown

    Outgoing Players
    Loren Woods
    7-1 C from Arizona
No games yet played in 2007/08
    Chuck Hayes
6-6 SF / PF from Kentucky
No games yet played in 2007/08
    Luther Head
6-3 PG / SG from Illinois
No games yet played in 2007/08
    Steve Francis
6-3 PG / SG from Maryland
No games yet played in 2007/08
    Rafer Alston
    6-2 PG from Frenso State
No games yet played in 2007/08
    Bobby Jackson
    6-1 PG from Minnesota
No games yet played in 2007/08

Plus a first-rounder and a second-rounder from us to them...and we would have to have some kind of deal about an extension for a couple of years in place...

what about stephen jackson? i dont think golden state is going to do anything this year so they may be looking to dump salary at the trade deadline.

we could package bobby jackson and francis/head (if he's still around).

it'll finally give us that third scorer we need to really make a push for the title.

Josh Smith is still on the market. GSW or Clippers could still end up as a good team.
