Blade Runner had some biblical references and such injected in it anyway. As long as it is done subtly and not "preachy" then it should be fine.
Great find! Not the best likeness of me, but cool never the less. Nice about Peoples, as well. I liked Soldier mostly because of Kurt Russell (I'm a fan), and it never occurred to me that there was a BR connection. Now I'll have to watch it again. Far out! Did you notice that when you first saw it? It's weird that I didn't.
If you guys liked the pulp blade runner pic I posted, you can buy a poster directly from the artist here. Here are a couple more (spoilered for size): Spoiler Spoiler I think so. Fairly forgettable flick.
LOL...nope...way to engrossed in the movie to catch it the first time. It was after I bought the DVD version did I make the connection. I think there are references to other movies...Event Horizon and another...can't remember.
Those posters are very cool. I wouldn't mind if they make BR tangent films, it's not like they will make BR worse. Why not hope they do a good job? One thing for sure, there's no way to make everyone happy with stuff like that. Very interesting about the cross referencing. Yeah, I never thought much of "Soldier" so I'd never have known, but now I will have to watch it just for the references.
Yeah, Soldier really wasn't very good, except for Kurt Russell, who was excellent as Kurt Russell. Definitely not Big Trouble in Little China territory for him. A depressing flick, over all.
Ridley Scott Says BLADE RUNNER 2 Script Written; Likely Shoot Before PROMETHEUS Sequel Scott's next movie will be another sci-fi adaptation called The Martian with Matt Damon, but once he's done with that the director tells EW he'll be moving right on to the sequels to both Prometheus and Blade Runner; with the latter shooting first. Ridley Scott is nothing if not busy. The iconic director is currently putting the finishing touches to Exodus: Gods and Monsters starring Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton, and then he'll be moving on to an adaptation of Andy Weir’s sci-fi novel, The Martian, which is set to star Matt Damon. But where does that leave these sequels to Blade Runner and Prometheus we've been promised? Well, according to Scott they're still happening, and Blade Runner 2 will probably be his next project after The Martian. “It’s written and it’s damn good,” Scott says of the planned sequel to his 1982 classic “Of course it involves Harrison [Ford], who is a survivor after all these years—despite the accident (referencing the actor's Star Wars set mishap). So yes, that will happen.” Ford has not officially signed on to star in the film yet, but if he's willing to revisit Han Solo after all these years, there's nothing to say he won't also step back into Rick Deckard's trench-coat. Of course if Blade Runner is next, that means it could well be a few years before we see a follow yp to Prometheus. "That’s the problem,” Scott says. “I’ve got a lot of ducks in a row. But they’re all written.”
It makes me nervous when old people have a lot of stuff on their schedules. Stuff that takes years to put out.
Not that I want to see old Ridley pass on but if Prometheus 2 never happens the world will be a better place.
Harrison Ford didn't hold up with Expendables 3 despite the layers of makeup and industrial CG on his face. Maybe his next iteration will be more android-like... Yeah... themes like death and coming to grips with ones own mortality despite not being human. Maybe a lot of the industrial CG for the sequel will put a spotlight on Rutger Hauer: Android Jesus.
