if i remember correctly, the ROX turned down a offer by the hawks of SAR for EG. wow i bet there kicking themslves now......
Hey! Let's not give up on Eddie too soon! I say we wait to see how well Eddie does in the prison basketball league before we pass final judgement
this is all sad. i remember when people thought eddie would be the best player in houston...now he has no trade value and might go to jail. damn.
nope, i wasn't. 1. bonzi and cheeks can't get along. 2. his attitude and lack of professionalism (spitting, flipping off fans) hurts his trade value. 3. with the Blazers starting Sheed at 3, Derek Anderson is better suited to playing the 2-guard than Bonzi is (once he gets healthy). 4. Qyntel Woods is starting to emerge as a player 5. Damon will likely get busted again and Moochie can back up Jeff 6. Paul Allen and Steve Patterson are looking to trim their payroll. 7. At this point in their careers Boki is better than Tracy Murray as a shooter off the bench.
1. Bonzi any coach in the NBA would not get along. 2. Exactly why there won't be other teams wanting him. 3. Bonzi is definitely expendable. He's a misfit at the 2. 4. Possibly 5. Good idea, if it happens.
Cheeks is gone, or will be at the end of the season. i think everyone in portland knows that. whilst Bonzi and cheeks relationship can be considerd sour, how can you say he wont evolve into a better person under a new coach. also whilst he might go bananas at times, he has proven himself to be a very good player, and i'm pretty certian he can fetch the blazers alot more then EG, and a useless and extremly overpaid PG. whilst boki is a talent at the SF, we allready have a potential star in woods. I can understand that the Blazers have a reputation of collecting overpaid junk, but those days are long gone now with the arrival of patterson.
Then why give him a 1 year contract extension just last week? Who'd replace him? Rudy T? George Karl? Clyde Drexler?
maybe griffin has some value left because of his contract situation..... his contract ends after this season, so there might be some takers...
Stop think about it you will start to pull your hair out (hey that's what happen to JVG) if you still have your mind lingering about this

i was'nt aware of the contract extension, so to my suprise, he's staying for another season. but a one year extension dosent exactly mean or signal a great vote of confidence. say the blazers dont make the playoffs this year, dont expect cheeks to even complete he's extension. clyde drexler though a quality person has'nt proven himself to be a greaty coach. i'll throw a name out of the left field who has been linked to the blazers for a while now, chuck daley. if cheeks is given the flick, dont be suprised, to see chuck roaming the sidelines at the garden.
Eddie has no trade value at this point. The only positive course of action I see for the Rockets and Eddie is this: 1) Eddie continues his mental treatment and hopefully through this he sees the light and gets back on track. The sad expressionless face turns to a more happy face and he becomes hungry to succeed again. 2) The legal problems don't result in jail time, but perhaps fines and community service. 3) Eddie works out, HARD all summer long and shows some improvements to the Rockets. Effort is key here. And not just improvements basketball wise but also mentally/emotionally too. 4) Eddie signs a deal with the Rockets at a minimal amount (perhaps a 1 year deal). What do the Rockets have to lose? 5) During that year Eddie proves himself to the Rockets that he will realize his potential and then becomes a solid rotation player and perhaps earns a longer term contract. Of course that is A LOT of "ifs" there. A LOT of "ifs"! But that's what we have to hope for. There is no trade value with Eddie. He is either going to work hard to get back to what he could be or just wash out of the league. I really hope he can make it back. It all starts with his mental treatment and trying to beat his legal problems.
How about a .357 Magnum and a box of shells... Throw in a dime bag and a couple rocks... TRADE ACCEPTED
