As much as fans hate McGrady he was a Road warrior.... we need more of those players who excel playing on the ROAD!!!
We're going to beat the Thunder, We're going to beat the Thunder, We're going to beat the Thunder. ......... ......... .........
Chandler Parsons = Played beyond expectations. James Harden = Played beyond expectations Patrick Beverly = Played beyond expectations Jeremy Lin = Played beyond expectations Omer Asik = Played beyond expectations Greg Smith = Played beyond expectations Houston Rockets = Played beyond expectations We complain about going through a 3 year drought when teams go through it for decades at a time. More than half the league would trade their roster for ours, straight up. Parsons has star potential, Lin has star potential, Harden is already a star. Asik makes me think we don't need Howard after all (a stretch 4 with a mid range game like Aldridge?). We're going to be a factor (again) for a long time.....yesss.
I understand this, but if we get swept in the playoffs it will be hard for me to think of this season as a success. And we have no one to blame but ourselves. Harden has played pretty bad in the second half of the season, and im begining to sour on Mchale.
If for any reason it's a success it's for getting rid of that draft pick we sent to the Nets ( traded to ATL) for T-Will. We can now trade draft picks again for another good player.
As hard as it was to watch last night's game, we're going to be playing extra games for the first time in 3 years! EMBRACE THAT! WE ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS! THESE PLAYERS KNOW THEY ARE THE UNDERDOGS! WE'RE LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE HOUSTON ROCKETS FANS, SO KEEP YOUR HEADS UP, WE'RE IN FOR AN AMAZING RIDE!
The thing that shocks me about your post and a few others is the inability to see positivity in this young team even with their flaws eventhough, we just beat all odds by making the playoffs. I mean that literally, we beat all odds. No one was giving us a chance for the playoffs. Hell, most people had us at the bottom of the western conference. So to not give respect to a guy who didnt have to come here in the first place. Remember, James Harden had to choose to come. He knew if he turned down the thunders offer he would be sent to Houston. And a guy of whom without, we wouldn't have made it this far and we certainly wouldnt even be considering the fact that dwight might want to come here now. To not give him respect, and this team and coach for what he went through this season. To not be happy that people are talkin about the run n gun rockets is ridiculous to me. Instead people are saying that harden is overated. There are just some people who will never be happy.
its not that we need a positivity thread, as much as just EVEN would be good. the knee jerk negativity on the board is out of control. its something particular to sports that everyone but the champion is a looser. and frankly, i'm still just perturbed with the refs. harden without the ability to get a call is quite human.
Every single poster on this board would have taken a playoff berth at the beginning of the year, even if it meant playing the Thunder. The only reason we are disappointed is because we got to watch these guys play so well for a good portion of the season. They are not worse than 7 teams in the west, no matter what the record states, and that alone is reason for positivity. All season we kept hearing how our guys would hit a wall because NONE of them had been required to carry a team for a full season. For a while it seemed like we had avoided it, but unfortunately that wall may be in our way right now. It cannot be stated enough how important playing in a playoff series is for one's game, even if it is a loss. Very few players find success without some failure, and the fact that our guys will even be able to experience (probable) playoff failure is reason for positivity. San Antonio would not have been an easy opponent. They are slow... so what? We faced a slow team last night with a big man, and they killed us on the boards. It took a nearly perfect game to beat them at home. Sure they may be a tad easier on paper than OKC, but not by much. They also have a much, much, much better head coach. Unfortunately, none of the top 3 teams were good matchups for our currently constructed team. Don't forget, however, that Harden's (arguably?) most dominant game of the season came against OKC. If there is anything that can get him out of his funk, it will be the desire to stick it to his former team. And that is reason for positivity.
I like how the positivity threads fall to the bottom but the negative ones are always on fire. gotta luv it.
But how can you be positive when you have an incompetent coach? The players tried hard, they really do, but that only makes me more furious with the coach's ineptitude.
If we beat the thunder we deserve to be in NBA finals. It would be the biggest upset in NBA history, yes even bigger than any of the Rockets historical playoff series.
the reason for the negativity is because the way we finished the season... if we would have grabbed that 7th seed everyone would of felt so much better heading into the playoffs... i have been upset since we lost last night.. kinda feel bummed to face OKC honestly..... But you know what! bring it on OKC.. we usually have always been a problem to OKC the past couple of years especially when we play them at home... i know i know we have a different team now but still OKC really never fared well against us at home besides when they blew us out the fist time at home this season... i dont know what it is but i have a feeling were gonna make it to 6 games .. who knows maybe we can pull the upset.. i think everyone will have a better idea after game 1... come on HARDEN show the world why you are a superstar.. play like we all know you are capable of playing.. dont turn the ball over or make risky passes.. play within the flow of the offense.. if your open take the shot.. if you cant make your jumpers either drive to the hole or create a wide open shot for someone else! this team will go as far as you can take us.. pull the unthinkable off against your former team we believe

Rockets are like one of three teams that haven't been to the conference finals in 15 years. I'm sick of having to rep 94 and 95 over and over.
