what makes you think rafer will shoot better than 39% I would take that from 3 point range but no more than 6-7 attempts a game. rafer just needs to stop with that tony parker crap that he can't obviously make. mcgrady does and will step it up...yao is carrying us now
I don't know what makes me think it. Oh yeah, remember his shot in Toronto? It wasn't half bad then was it? I don't know what it is with PG's in Toronto and career high FG %... from Stoudamire to Alston to MJames to TJFord.. toronto is where they peak. you're right though, those tony parker or steve nash driving floaters aint working. his midrange game is where the moneys at but he don't do it enough.
Why wouldn't he be? they are open looks. They HAVE to take 'em. They are missing GOOD SHOTs is my point. Thats why they need to step it up and make those baby shots.
his career best is 38% from 3 hence my question again...what makes you think he will shoot better than 39%?
I really don't understand why so many people on this board are down on the Rockets. Sure we haven't played great basketball every minute of every game, but no team in the NBA does. The games we lost were all to solid teams, we had quality wins over both teams that went to the finals last year, and we haven't been blown out in any of the games we've lost. I honestly think this team has the talent to beat any team in the league in a 7 game series. Whether JVG is able to utilize that talent efficiently remains to be seen, but make no mistake about it the talent is there. I think a lot of people underestimate the fact that this team has only been together for a couple months now. Our team is much different from last season and even those players that were around last season didn't have a whole year to work with TMac and Yao. Give this team some more time and when they're more comfortable with each other great things will happen. Obviously if we're going to make a run we need more out of TMac, we need to find the right combination of shooters to surround Yao with, and we need to be able to hold on to leads when we get them. But honestly stop the hating and enjoy the wins.
I have no problem with Rafer's 3 point shooting. Never said I did. It's the 38% percent from the floor that he needs to pick up. His midrange game can be solid, I wish he would stop and pop more often.
I agree it hurt to lose those two games, but you are right we could have won both. The SA game really sucks cuz we blew the big lead, but the suns game was a back to back on the road while they had three days rest. We should have been blown out but showed heart to actually come back and take a lead in the fourth. Like everyone always says, you are what your record says you are. I will take a 66.7 percent win rate all season.
Yes, and all that said we ARE 10-5, not 5-10 or 4-11 like past years! I dont think anyone on the team is satisfied much less, happy but it's always better to start on the upside of the ledger than have to play catchup ball later. Remember two years ago? We started 6-11 and finished 51-31. So if we are 12-5 instead we would finish 57-25. That's only one game behind our ALL-TIME best in 96-97 of 58-24. We have never won 60 games! Yet, this year should things develop soon, it's a possibility but this month will be a BIG yardstick as to how good possibly we will be. The competition definitely stiffens up and the Rox better start bringing their A game or else they can and will get embarrassed a lot. Wait a few weeks at least before the "Give up on T-Mac" threads. Playoff runs arent made in November and December but rather, late February, March and early April. Remember that. We are in better position in the division than we have been in several years at this juncture in the season. The fact we havent even come close to tapping our potential much less, peak should be encouraging. Whereas, if we were playing our BEST ball and this was our record, I would be very concerned if we would even qualify for the playoffs. Relax, it's ALL good!
