So your saying a selfless player that was so gracious he took the role of coming of the bench to help his team in the suns series and still scored 16 in 28 minutes is not a good fit well if thats true than no is!

Maggette would be a great 6th man, instant offense off the bench. He's too soft on defense to be a starter on the Rockets and he's also foul prone.

instead of maggette, why not look at marquis daniel? I mean, when he came into the league, he nad josh howard were almost identical. Now, he lives on the bench. he is a decent player... i wouldn't mind getting him if maggette is unavailable...

Just say no to Daniels. He did very well as an undrafted rookie trying to prove himself but hasn't been the same since he got the money.

I think the idea of Marquis Daniels is a good one. He really hasn't been given a chance under Avery Johnson. He is an athlete with size, who could probably do damage with minutes and opportunity.

Although I still belive that the best way to address the SG/SF(whichever TMac doesn't play) is to do whatever it takes to get Rudy Gay. 6'9 220 atlhletic, posts, shoots, penetrates. A perfect fit for this team.

you have got to be kidding me maggette had his first major major injury this year and he is a top 45 player in this leauge and with three top 45 guys we could go the distance he is not a horrilble defender he just need a jvg type guy to help him out and it might not matter what ne one thinks of him because ive read 3 articles that have him penned to h-town i cant wait that will be my 4th most exciting rockets fan news behind 2 titles and mcgrady

completly agree except the best way is with maggette that comes in a close #2 but i actually think maggette will cost less because with his athleticism gay will go top 3

Trade Stro Show and 2nd round pick to anyone in the middle of the 1st round for Sheldon Williams. The guy is solid like Tim Duncan and is very smart player. Our team is not smart and lacks leaders.

Have to agree. At least I see Swift can get better with a better coach that has a more positive mind.

why are so many people hell bent on getting sheldan williams? the league is going the exact opposite way of this guy, the nba nowadays requires athleticism, range, quickness and, driving ability, which shelden williams has none of.

So why did we trade Mike James for a more traditional PG? If JVG wanted a PG that can score and can "knock the dam three," we would have kept James, but JVG wanted PG that can bring the ball up and run an offense.

I don't get your reasoning. Your saying Alston will get less points and assists if TMac and Yao are on the court? Just imagine how many more assists he could get w/ 2 players that can actually make shots. I find it quite amazing that Alston was able to dish out 7 assists w/ how terrible our shooting and scoring was for most of the season, I can only imagine what he could do with a full set of weapons.

When it comes to assists numbers, how much a player has the ball in his hands is a much greater factor than how talented his teammates are.

Mike Bibby was an 8 assist player in Vancouver and is a 5 assist guy in Sacramento, despite having a lot more talent around him in Sacramento.

As the second fiddle in Dallas, Steve Nash was a 7 assist player. He averaged 10.5 assists this year despite having significantly less talent than he did in Dallas.

Brevin Knight averaged 9 assists this season playing on a talent starved Charlotte team.

Andre Miller averaged 11 assists in Cleveland with a very weak supporting cast. He’s generally been a 6 assist guy in Denver.

Joe Johnson averaged 3.5 assists on a very talented Phoenix team last season and 6.5 assists in Atlanta.

If Alston is lucky, he'll average 7 assist again next season, but definitely not more. His field goal percentages will hopefully improve though.

If Alston is with this club next year, playing 30 mpg, with a healthy Yao and TMac, he will push 10 apg.

Steve Nash averaged only 10.5 assists in 35.4 mpg last year as the primary ball handler in a high octane uptempo offense and you think Alston is going to average 10 assists in only 30 minutes as the 3rd or 4th option on the floor playing in a slow half-court offense revolving around Yao?

Besides having the ball in his hands a whole lot more last season then he will next, another thing that inflated Alston’s assist numbers was playing darn near 40 minutes a game. Reduce his minutes to 30 and there’s no way in hell he gets anywhere near 10 assists a game.

So it doesn't really matter that we had ZERO shooting last season? I understand your point but I am gonna wait to see Alston w/ a healthy TMac and Yao before I call him a "problem."

hell.. even moochie can look decent playing with a healty t-mac and yao..why do everybody have to be 100 % healty for rafer to play good? What about his horrendous shooting? What about his 4th quarter 1:00 minute left turnover heroics ? Luther head was a rookie and shot better and played better than rafer.
