    Possey will definitely be gone.

I don't see why everyone or many amongst us are crying over this. It is not really a big deal.

That said, it also makes sense to free up space to allow Boki play and blossom. I DO NOT BUY into the perception or claim that he is a burst. Possey is mediocre at best. We already have enough overpaid mediocre players in Rice, Moochie, Cato and Maybe Eddie.

It is Boki time - let him in.

Bye bye JPo - it was nice knowing you chap.

    :p

I'm missing something here. Everybody is in an uproar and convinced that the Rockets won't match Posey's offer (assuming that he even signs it). If you feel that strongly that the Rockets absolutely won't add that much to the payroll (whatever amount that might be), then why would they then do a sign and trade deal for Posey where they have to take back 85% of whatever Posey's first year salary is?

I'd bet that they match the offer. But, if team salary was that big of an issue, then a sign and trade isn't viable either.

For those asking about the possibility of a sign and trade, the answer is, uh....

....wouldn't the BYC kick in? If Posey's first year was for $4.9 million, then we could only take back $2.45 mil in return. It could be done, if he hasn't signed the offer sheet.

Yeah, I'm thinking we'll probably match, and maybe this was CD's way of making sure we don't overpay again.

    OK...stop hyperventilating (note to self).

If Posey signs the offer sheet, there can be no S&T. Simple as that.

    Please god match the offer!

There aren't any other 3's out there who are still available who can do what he can do. Boki's not ready, Rice is a fat teddy bear that can' t shoot any more, and I'm pretty sure we lost Terrence Morris, so we really don't have any other options here.

Do something Les! For the love of god, we need to do something this off season other than just moving arenas and gettting new uniforms!

Exactly. Even further, Posey is likely to be a BYC player...just by the nature of BYC, in all likelihood we'd have to take back more than 100% of Posey's salary to help compensate for that. The only way that would make sense if Memphis threw in cash considerations to balance it out and then some, but why would they do that?

why are you guys freaking out? oeilpere told us just a few weeks ago that Posey knew that he had a good deal here, and that he was going to sign our offer.

Jumbo-sized bottle of Vicadin to GARM.....stat!

geez...he hasnt formally signed it...Rox havent had time to match it..

what in the name of God are all you people freaking out about?

and for the record...Posey plays good D and hustles..and his shot was getting better.
Rice has shot and mediocre defense.
Boki has a shot (somewhere)..and according to DoD..is ok on D(good enough for the zone)
so..even if we lose Posey, it aint the end of the world..

Step away from your computers..take a big-ass hammer..and smack yourselves on the head till you calm down..

if posey signs we gotta match. that guy is great. He hustles, can knock down a three if open, runs the fastbreak, and is a great defender. Plus, I think he would thrive under JVG. So either let him go and try to pick up a free agent or make a good trade, or keep him and stand pat.

Finally some calmer, reasonable, heads (e/x Fegwu), 4 years/22.4 mil at worst (thanks for the figure NIKE).

Posey still is a Rocket, and will be a Rocket, not 100% certainty, but as safe of a bet as a T-bill.

But are the Rockets GOING to match the offer? There's been so much talk of the luxury tax that the Rockets might just let him walk. Say what you want about Posey, you don't lose your starting SF and get better.

I think u guys are taking that one quote about the BIG SPLASH way too seriously. He probably was just talking about how cool the arena was gonna be or the unis or something.

Heck I'd take keeping Posey and possibly adding a strong 4.
