Unfortunately, I can't share your optimism. Rice will probably get hurt at some point and his defense was not very good. Nachbar just is not ready yet and his defense is even worse.

I also can't put Taylor in as a "very good player" to joing the "Big 3." He is mediocre at best and should only get 20-25 minutes per game.

You could see this coming especially after looking at the contract offer Utah made to Brad Miller yesterday. JVG had better be the second coming of Houdini because our SF play is about to blow major chunks. Too many bad contracts on this team and it's time to pay the check...

Don't forget that GSW just signed Speedy Claxton and Heat will offer Odom a contract.

Exactly... "Be part of something big! The big backsplash!"
And then the bloody R rising out of a toilet bowl.

Reports: Rockets forward accepts year deal with Grizzlies
    Associated Press

HOUSTON - Houston Rockets forward James Posey has agreed to a four-year deal with the Memphis Grizzlies, according to broadcast reports Tuesday.

Houston stations KRIV-TV and KILT radio reported Posey has not signed the offer but has approved it verbally and is pleased with it.

"I think I made the best decision for myself and for my future," Posey said while not disclosing financial details. "It was more than what the Rockets put on the table."

The Rockets have 15 days to match the Memphis offer once Posey signs it if they wish to keep the 6-8, 215-pound forward. He's averaged 9.4 points, five rebounds and 1.29 steals in 319 games with Denver and Houston during a six-year NBA career.

"It's really in their court right now," Posey said of the Rockets.

Rockets spokesman Nelson Luis said the team first learned of the offer Tuesday afternoon and had no other response.

this sucks! Posey was the player that fit our teams needs the most. Athletic defender swingman. without him our team is hopeless. No Posey = No Playoffs

Great job by CD! I have said it before and I will say it again. CD was only 1/2 the brains that decided to make the move like Cato, Collier, Taylor, Moochie, Maloney, Drew among the other joke moves.

Now the other half of the brainpower is gone, I don't expect things will get better before they get worse.

    oh well.

if posey wants the mle for extended years (i'm just guessing that's what it is) then vaya con Dios my friend. people complain about our other contracts and yet they seem to want us to sign posey to another bad one just b/c he's all we got for now. i'd rather be patient and get someone who really fits for when we are contenders than sign a poor contract for the only guy we've got now just for a quick fix.

well unless you would've liked kenny's shiny new 7 yr contract on this team's payroll, we were losing him for nothing either way.

See you later posey... It was enjoyable for half a year. Time to make some big moves now that we have 4 spots to fill on our roster.

Hopeless? Come on now. At best he is/was the 4th best player on this team.

I'm not going to lose too much sleep over this.

Wrong! It's only Rice and Nachbar for about 15...20 games tops. For the remaining 62 it will just be Nachbar.

Now who's going to camp at the 3pt line and jack bricks all day?

Oh well, at least we still have Eddie Griffin.
