I don't remember anyone but posters on this board saying anything about a "big splash". If anyone has a link to CD or Les saying anything about a splash, I'd like to see it.

I would like the rockets to match the offer. One of the reasons we've been losing is because the team doesn't stay together. If we lose Posey then we have to use Nachbar who hasn't had enough playing time to get adjusted to the NBA.

If we're talking about Carroll Dawson matching wits with Jerry West in negotiating a trade, JUST FREAKING KILL ME NOW. STICK A DULL SPOON THROUGH MY SKULL.

Im pretty sure someone made a thread a while back about an interview with CD or something and in it he said that the rocks were looking to make a big splash going intot he new arena. My memory is really shaky on this, so i could be wrong.

I would prefer Miller because he would bring the kind of outside shooting that the Rockets are sorely missing and I think it would be a great compliment to Yao Mings game. I would even like Wesley Person but he is really more of a 2 and much older than Millers

Having said that, I don't think the Rockets will enter into a sign and trade. If for some strange reason they do want a sign and trade they better make it happen before Posey signs the Memphis offer sheet.

The Rockets have no chance to get Mike Miller in a trade for James Posey. West desperately wanted the guy, not to mention he's a much, much better player than Posey is.

Not to mention that it's been stated several times by several people that once the offer sheet is signed - which it will be tomorrow, per reports - no S&T can happen. And even before then, the Grizz have no incentive to work out such a deal, especialyl if they think the Rockets won't match.

ok, so at first i was like dudes dont worry cause we are gonna sign a couple decent role players and keep our current players, but now im a little worried. almost every team in the west is trying to get better, and we havent done jack. either CD is working on something huge, or we are gonna get screwed.

Someone else mentioned the possibility of signing Jim Jackson if we can't re-sign Posey. I think this would be a GREAT pick up. Unfortunately, he's probably looking for a 4 or 5 year deal since he's getting older. But, he played for like $800,000 last year for the Kings. I know he's going to want MUCH more than that now after he played so well for the Kings last year. But, I'd love to have him if we could sign him to a one or two year deal.

I'm sorry. This post is WAY too logical for a thread like this. You'll have to start over but this time try adding explitives, rolleyes icons and try to call at least someone a no-talent moron. That would be much more appropriate.

    :D

Posey is a nice role player for this team, if the Rockets can get him cheap, fine re-sign him for what hes worth. The last thing the Rockets need is to give to much money for a role player whom had a decent season. Mo Taylor Moochie Norris Kelvin Cato and Glenn Rice is the main reasons on why this is a boring offseason. They dont need another bad contract holding them back next year.

4 years starting at the Exception is not a bad contract, IMHO.

    Match it!!!

if the grizz loves posey that much, i'd want either Person (shooting and contract pluses), Battier or Swift in return. I like Posey's intensity on D but he's just a slight upgrade from Shandon Anderson IMO. I'd take one of the 3 off their hands.

The Grizz can't offer more than the MLE because they are over the cap. It will be interesting to see what they offered. But, someone had to offer him something. He's a good player. If you are a GM of another team in the western conference, you can't just let the Rockets have him for 2.5 mil. They have to at least make the Rox pay what the guy is worth to keep him. Jerry West is no fool. I'm not saying this is why they made him an offer. Just saying that everyone recognizes he's worth more than 2.5 mil and they aren't going let the Rockets have him for that.

true. i think he should get cuttino mobley money ( 5mil a year) but in an offseason where big names are out, someone had to be shorthanded a bit and one of those guys is posey. I just hope that if the grizz wants him THAT bad, that they would need to send us a player or something. A battier at the SF slot or a swift at the PF slot is fine....although moTay and/or EG might need to be moved....
