At that same rate, is there any chance he brings the Rockets, some much needed toughness?

None of our big men are physical, except for MAYBE Cato.

I think this is great. Every team needs a bad boy type to give the team a needed edge at times. The Rockets need that guy that won't take any $hit from no one.

There are players who can separate their behavior on court from their behavior off court. If we need an enforcer, I want that type of enforcer.

    This was just trashy.

    Hmmmm, or perhaps

    Posey: "Hey Ron, whats up!"

Artest: "What the..., are you threatening me mother****er?, I went to Saint Johns, I'll kill you! Red Storm! Red Storm!"

Posey: "Whoa, Chill out man, step away from them jello shooters, that ain't Pixi Stix in em"

Artest: "You know what Isaiah, you can kiss my St John ASS"

Posey: "Isaiah?, what are you talking about?"

Artest: "I'm gonna kill your whole family with a number 2 pencil!"

Posey: "Hey man, what are you doing?"

(In a three minute scuffle, Artest manages to bite, swallow and digest 3 feet of polyester off a table while trying to stab Posey with a punch ladel, Posey reacts by taking out a gun, but for some reason, he never shoots, and just defends, Nick Van Exel for some reason leaves right before everything starts going great and ends up in a laughable situation.)

I keep hearing people talk about how strong Ron Artest is, have you seen James Posey? The guy isn't exactly a weakling. He was a pretty strong guy when he played at Xavier. But I agree with whoever said that stronger and smarter is probably going to have trouble facing crazy and mad. Artest is just an out of control lunatic. And what all this about Posey being a thug. Because he almost started ONE fight? Well here are a few other thugs then, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Dr. J, Hakeem Olajuwon, Shaq, Kobe, etc. Every player at one point has gotten into a fight, and Posey is considered a class guy. One fight doesn't make him a punk and a thug. I like his "in your face" attitude anyway, we need toughness.

Posey impresses me. The whole league will know you can't intimidate James Posey. Perfect target. Bullseye.

    This is from www.************.com:

Things got off to a good start for me when I ran into James Posey in the baggage claim area. I think he was surprised someone recognized him outside of Houston. I told him I really liked his game and mentioned how he seems to be taking over Glen Rice's starting job! He was a really nice guy and expressed his appreciation for my compliments.

So because he was involved in a fight, it doesn't make him a punk. I've not seen Posey disrespect another player or a coach, and he always seems cordial at interviews. No one knows exactly what happened. Until we do, let's not label him as a Wallce or Artest yet.

Mavs' Van Exel is detained at All-Star party

Guard was placed in handcuffs, but no arrests were made

    02/10/2003

By EDDIE SEFKO / The Dallas Morning News

ATLANTA - Mavericks guard Nick Van Exel was involved in an incident Saturday night at an exclusive All-Star
weekend party that led to him and at least one other NBA player being handcuffed.

Van Exel apparently was at the NBA players association party with James Posey, a close friend and a former
teammate in Denver. According to accounts, Indiana's Ron Artest and Posey got into a heated discussion and
Van Exel came to Posey's defense.

Eyewitnesses, albeit teammates of Van Exel's, said he was blameless.

"He didn't do anything," Steve Nash said. "I don't know why they treated him that way. That was not cool, and it
    was not fair."

Apparently, the issue was resolved. There were no arrests
made, according to NBA officials. A Mavericks official said Van
Exel was in good spirits Sunday. Nash agreed.

"It all got washed away," he said. "Nick's fine."

Added Dirk Nowitzki, who was with Nash at the party: "I don't
know what happened. He was hanging with his boys and the
next thing you know, he was in handcuffs

lol Dirk. HANGING WITH HIS BOYS. Sorry...

    WELL ANYWAYS.

We all know what Ron Artest has done. Too many things...

And James Posey likes to spark things up too...bumping into people but not on purpose.

ANYWAYS. Does anyone know what they were talking about?

Ron Artest was probably saying that the Rockets suck or maybe he was making fun of Yao Ming. And POSEY SMACKED HIM. And they started fighting.

Well anyways. Go Posey! Wouldn't it be nice to have Nick Van Exel?

Actually, I read that Artest was in Florida, at Disney world when this supposedly happened. It is a bunch of crap written up by ESPN again.

There was no fight with Artest and Posey, since Artest was not in the same state. I read that Posey and Van Exel got handcuffed, but not arested because they tried to sneak a few friends into the NBA party in Atlanta. :p

Hmm...you know on SportsCenter. They adjust the truth a little bit too. They like to make stuff up. Too biased. But still good show.

    ESPN!!!!! Liar! "Three knowledgable sources"

I personally think it was that Ron Artest was upset that he couldnt have a big elephant on his team like Posey does. As reptilex would say.
