Perhaps Portland did this to ensure itself that it could at least pick in the top 10 at 7. Maybe there is a deal in the works for the 4, maybe with us?!?

It all depends on Minnesota... I think we can still land Gay or Roy.

It seems that Paul Pierce laid it down for Ainge that he won't sign an extension with the Celtics unless they kill the youth movement and bring in veterans that can contend while he's in his prime. This trade was plan B, plan A was Iverson.

Portland takes Morrison and Roy? Steal of a trade for them, potentially.

We don't know if the Roy trade with Atlanta is actually dead or not... If it isn't then there is still a good chance Atlanta will pick Roy with #5 and then trade him to the Rockets. I don't think Minnesota or Portland would take Shelden Williams.

So, Portland trades 4 & 7 to Toronto for the #1 now?

Portland drafts Morrison, Toronto gets Bargnani or Gay at 4 and then a PG at 7.

Why haven't they posted this info on ESPN's home page?

Nice. Telfair's 20 years old. Not exactly a "veteran" by any stretch of the imagination.

maybe portland are going after the no.1 pick to guarantee aldridge. they need a c as przybilla is a free agent. they also need someone to backup randolph. i can see them drafting two bigs if the picks are kept. especially tyrus and shelden, since they can cover 3/4/5 between them.

I think Roy or Gay can still drop to us... it depends on Minnesota though.

My best case scenario without trades mock:

    1. Bargnani
    2. TT
    3. Morrison
    4. Aldridge
    5. Williams
    6. We HOPE they take Foye here
    7. Gay or Roy
    8. Gay or Roy

Worst case scenario is Minnesota taking Gay and then Portland taking Roy. And we end up with zero top-6 talent.

Hmm .... suddenly thought -- would Atlanta be more open to trading the #5 now IF Portland takes a big man at 4? I don't know if they will, but if they do, they might feel that both the Timberwolves and Blazers would pass on a PF.

Probably wishful thinking... I think they've already told Shelden he will be #5.

Backcourt is set? Blake sucks, Dickau sucks, Jack is decent, Dixon sucks, and Webster is good.

THAT REALLY SUCKS. I think with the 4th pick they're going to take roy or gay. Then with the 7th pick they're going to take shelden williams. That just ruins the trade for us. I hate them.

Please don't draft Shelden Williams, Dawson. I WILL START RIOTING INSIDE THE TOYOTA CENTER. After all this talk about Roy and Gay, I just want Brewer at #8 and I'll be relatively happy. 2nd round pick is a toss up at this point.

Chad Ford has the rockets pretty much getting locked out of the top six players in his new updated mock draft. He has the Blazers at #7 taking Gay and Thomas at #4 if they keep the pick.

This is what happens to teams when you play veterans 30+ minutes at the end of the season in totally meaningless games. Thanks JVG.

blake was their best point by the end of the season. anyway i don't see why they'd get rid of telfair just add another rookie among the guards.

Portland is rebuilding from scratch. I see them drafting the two best players available or the two most marketable player available (Roy and Morrison). My bet is that get Roy and pick high potential faller like Thomas or Gay or Aldridge or even Morrison @ #7.

With the Celtics at least we knew that they were likely targeting a 1 (since no can't miss 5 is on the board and they are exceptionally deep at 2-4).

it's going to take a miracle like portland selecting redick withh the 7th pick for someone to fall to the rockets now.

CD,please do something to screw Celtics/Balzers.

    Do the trade with Atlanta.

    Minnesota/Portland wont pick S.Williams at 6th/7th.
