If the Rockets were to take Rasheed Wallace, I would cease being a fan. I said it about Rodman, and I say it about him. There are certain things more important than winning a lot of games.....like having a team with players that I actually like.

I think Ainge brought up a great point last night about how Rasheed doesn't know how to get a tech yet, and that Sheed just keeps talking and talking until he gets the 2nd. He was alluding to the fact that Sheed needs to take a cue from Barkley and Malone, to name a few, meaning get the tech, make your point, let it slide temporarily, and then ride the ref THROUGHOUT the night. Sheed hasn't learned how to push the envelope without getting in trouble, i.e. the art of the tech.

But I'd still be on him like the Press on Anna K. should the Blazers feel the need to move him.

The guy is a legitimate 20pt-10reb-2blk, 25-26 yr-old PF that runs like a deer and can jump through the roof, MAN!

I think Pippen would be a nice fit with the Rockets.

If we're playing the "take one guy away from Portland" game, I'd take Steve Smith. Without hesitation.

Call me crazy but I would love to have Wallace on the Rockets. I think a new team and new coach will do him some good. He didn't act like this in Washington.

don't we have stacey augmn's twin brother on the team already?!!! (shanddn anddersn?)

the last thing we need is two shanddns.

if i could take one player, without question, it would be rasheed. wallace has the talent to be better than webber, duncan, garnett, etc. the only problem has been his temper. however, if you remember back in north carolina and washington, he wasn't half the problem he is now. IMO, it's because he is unhappy with his situation in portland.

1) he can't be THE MAN, because they have TOO MUCH talent to win.
2) dunleavy is a spineless jellyfish.

put rasheed on the rockets, where he could be THE MAN (esp. on the inside), with rudy as a coach, and you might be able to settle him down. if not, he's still immensely talented (proven fact) and could be shipped out easily.

i'd QUICKLY give up our lottery pick (and a carlos rogers, shanddn anddersn, etc., etc.) this year for rasheed wallace.

rasheed can play the 3 or the 4, and has even picked up the 5 at stretches. rasheed, motay and cato/dream? give it to me!

Only players I would want from the Blazers are Wallace, Bonzi, and Davis.

We have nothing to offer for them. Simple as that.

Ok folx Let's be real.

I'd take DAVIS and Smitty

Davis gives us toughness and rebounding
I think he is getting tired of the portland
Experiment. . .

Smitty - HE IS AN UPGRADE FROM WALT AND BULLARD
He can play the 2 or the 3
He doesn't MIND coming off the bench
and contrary to OTHER portland players
He was THE MAN. . . we was not a second
banana like the rest . . . in Atlanta
HE WAS THEIR TEAM.

Portland may want Cato because they still
need to solve the SHAQ puzzle. They maybe
interested in Shanderson - but shan wants to
start . . . .
They maybe interested in Mo [but that maybe to
high a price since I want mo to stay]

None of them. Well, maybe Bonzi Wells. He's a very good young player who isn't making a ton of money yet. Davis' contract is too much to take on for an old guy. Rasheed is a problem child and a player who disappears when his team needs him most (if he hasn't already been ejected). Steve Smith is a good player but I honestly can't see him getting minutes here. Stoudamire is alright, but not worth the contract (and we've got PG covered).

They need to blow that team up and start over.

Players in the NBA who are better overall than Rasheed

- Shaquille O'Neal
- Tim Duncan
- Chris Webber
- Kevin Garnett
- Gary Payton
- Tracy McGrady
- Antonio McDyess
- Antoine Walker
- Vince Carter
- etc..

You can make a case for him being top ten, although even that is questionable. He certainly isn't top five.

I'd start Steve Smith over Cat if he wanted to play guard. Otherwise, start him as a forward. He could get minutes. He could definitely improve our team. Steve Smith or someone like Allen Houston would be awesome.

Fadeaway:

Players in the NBA who are better overall than Rasheed
- Shaquille O'Neal - of course
- Tim Duncan - same here
- Chris Webber - push
- Kevin Garnett - push (for now, anyway)
- Gary Payton - too old (a bigger cancer than Sheed)
- Tracy McGrady - Tracy will end up being better than Kobe when it is all said and done.
- Antonio McDyess - Sheed has more
- Antoine Walker - Please
- Vince Carter - offensively but not overall

i 2nd HOOP-T...

antoine walker - no way, ballhog though has considerable talent. got a big noggin.

mcdyess - unselfish/real talented but dont have skills like 'sheed.

*** rasheed is definitely top-5 if you forget for a second that his team is in the dumps right now...i believe his (increase in) T's is a direct result of it though he's far from perfecting the art of the tech.

TALENT-WISE, the only players comparable to rasheed are:

1) Shaq
2) KG
3) T-Mac
4) Carter

the rest - TALENT WISE - are not really even close.
