They don't get an extra pick, they just get a pick this year rather than next. And they are already tanking badly without "extra incentive." :)

So its not our pick. Wow, the Blazers made out pretty well if the Nets don't get a top 3 pick in the draft. They're doing a better job than the Rockets at rebuilding while remaining competitive.

gerald wallace is a lockdown defender and top rebounder at the SF position. if the nets can get dwight, they'll be a real good team.

Wow. This reeks of desperation from the Nets management.

I know, I'm starting to Hate Morey's staying put strategies.

Portland lost their franchise player too, and they are so much more decisive with their ****. Last year they got Wallace because they still want to compete in the playoffs. now that Roy's gone. They blow shet up and go full rebuild mode by getting expiring and picks.

Wow...NJ is desperate if they didn't protect that pick more.

They're putting themselves in good position to reel in Howard after next season.

They are doing a better job of having a healthy LaMarcus Aldridge. Besides, did you their recent games? Ain't very competitive. :)

Anyhow, NJ is betting that Wallace will help them get into (or at lease close to) playoffs so the pick given up won't look that bad. For now, I think that NJ pick looks to be worth about the same as the NYK pick that the Rockets got for eating Jeffries' contract.

So this means Deron Williams will NOT be traded today?

Nets are still alive in the playoff hunt but with 22 games to go it may be too late. Risky move, could pay off but personally I think Deron is still likely going to Dallas.

Unless Portland's fully committed to rebuild their team, I guess Batum is no longer an option. I would consider it a reasonable trade-deadline move if we could package a deal, such as expiring contracts of players who can help Portland tank, to get Batum.

NJ right now is projected to have the #5 pick in the draft. No way they gave that one up for a journeyman in G Wallace.
