Bonzi is more of SF, so move him there. And Patterson is more of SG so move him too. And then you will see that this is a good trade for both teams. Especially since the chemistry between Randolph and Patterson isn't so good. (punching incident). They will want to move one of them. Damon Stoudamire/Jeff McInnis Cat/Patterson Bonzi/Pippen/Woods/Morris Rasheed Wallace/Maurice Taylor Dale Davis/Sabonis
After Pippen leaves, why don't Portland move Wallace to the 3, which is the way he plays anyway so Randolph can start. They've been kknown to over load with players, but I pretty sure they wouldn't do this one.
Pippen doesn't even want to go back to Portland. So Stoudamire/McInnis Mobley/Patterson Wells/Woods/Morris Wallace/Taylor Davis/Sabonis Steve/Antonio/Moochie Derek/James/Juaquin Bostjan/James/Glen Eddie/Zach Yao/Kelvin Ugh. Well....our backcourt would be very deep indeed. But still...we would be very young and even more inconsistent. We don't even have a game plan. Even though Derek Anderson and Antonio Daniels are good players...they might not be that great under Rudy. I know Zach Randolph would do great. Yao would be our only inside presence. And he might not even improve that much... But I would still do the trade.
Cuz' Bonzi plays the three. And Sheed is a PF, and he likes to play PF. And they want to move either Randolph or Patterson, so it's natural that they may want to trade Zach, since Sheed gives them quality minutes at PF. And Pippen has actually been their starting PG this season.... He hasn't played a lot of SF. Bonzi plays the SF for them.
If Taylor leaves, who the hell is gonna be out backup PF?? I know eddie aint gonna play 40+ mins a game.
It seems like we are losing the best player in this deal, and trading our all offense no defense PF for theirs. What are we getting out of this, a backup PG? Pass. Just sign Jon Barry with the MLE and you accomplish the same thing but keep the best player out of the deal.
Anderson > Mobley Daniels > Morris Randolph = Taylor Anderson is a great shooter, with a nice 4.3 apg. And I think it will be a better backourt with Francis/Anderson than Francis/Mobley. There's no doubt that we need Daniels more than Morris... Randolph will have to shape up, or he will get traded by the blazers. Zach is a great scorer, I think he is a better scorer than Taylor and he's the future. Mo-T is a vet, so he's valuable to. And he has been a really great spark off the bench this year. However I think Zach will be better for us right away. And he will only get better.
Ya know.. I doubt the Blazers would like this trade.. even if they wanted to get rid of Randolph. Would they really give up Anderson for Mobley?? And Randolph for Taylor?? I would hope the Blazers would part with Daniels though, he doesn't seem to be getting much pt over there. I'd love to have him here.
I don't think the trade makes sense for either team. The Rockets need to upgrade the front court, not the backcourt. The only way they can upgrade the front court is by trading Mo + junk for a PF. Por would be getting ripped off talent-wise.
I don't know what some people think around here, but Mobley is better than Anderson, significantly better. And Daniels is a scrub. Zach and MoT are =. Replace Mobes with Wells and we got a deal! I don't know if you guys realize it, but Mobes is a hot comodity in the NBA.
I think Anderson would be a better player for Houston than Cat is. He's more unselfish, and he's a team player. He also got a nice shooting touch. Daniels was a solid PG for the Spurs, it's just so many PG up in Portland so he hasn't got much PT. And he's definetly better than Moochie, so he would strenghten our team as Francis' backup. Zach is already better than Mo-T. And has proven himself time after time this season, it's just that he plays the same position as Sheed. Zach is also a very young player, and he will only get better. Houston wins on this trade. But I think both teams win on this trade. The question isn't that if we should do it, it's more would blazers do it?
The next teammate who likes Jeff McInnis will be the 1st. Keep him A W A Y! DA is good, good for Rox, but ever fragile. That is scary.
Derrick Anderson is good. But he is too injury prone. He will be going under the knife again next week. He may not even be ready to start next season.
the last time the rockets made a deal with portland: we were cursed with kelvin cato. i wouldnt do it simply because of bad karma.
