Absolutely disagree. I was at the game as well and don't know what game you were watching. The guy brings something-great energy into the game whenever you put him in, whether in the 1st qtr or last min. of the 4th qtr. He played decent in the bench warmers minutes at the end of the game and I think he'll keep earning RA's trust as the season goes along. He said as much and so did Marc Stein. I saw Morey talking to Stein after the game and didn't realize it was Morey till later that night. I always thought Morey was a short guy but he's pretty tall, I was surprised.
actually i wanna see pops play along with landry, lowry, ariza and battier. i think his explosive energy could take great energy to this team,he was deserved to share some time with scola why RD not give this guy a chance to play with our second lineup.
[Knock-On-Wood] If any one of our 4 bigs get hurt, Pops will get PT. [/Knock-On-Wood] What's the chance that all 4 bigs stays healthy and is playing at a high level all season long? Landry might go out for some Late-Nite Pie? Scola might take the flop of his life. Andersen might put one too many shrimp on the barbie. Chuck might ...well, he might just become bored with the game after mastering art of defense by not allowing the opposing team to score a single point. Odds are, Pops will get his chance. Hopefully, he'll be able to step in and pick up the slack.
If you hate the guy enough to display how much you hate him in your sig and in most of your posts, I'd at least think you'd know how to spell his name right. How about...you suck. His NBA career is 8 games old.
For real give him the little minutes DA gets... he came in garbage time and was rebounding like a man. I think he could contribute a few minutes a game.
It's early in Andersen's career but I'm not seeing the tools that will make him a successful NBA player. I'm sure his jumper will show up at some point but he isn't going to get any tougher or any stronger. You can pretty much write in the opposition's post players going on a tear any time Andersen enters the game. He isn't like Scola in that he just needs to adjust to the name pace/rules. He is flat out overmatched 80% of the time. My prediction: get ready....Pops will be playing more minutes than Andersen by January. At some point the coach as to put the best player in and not the one the GM likes or the one making the most money.
I think it comes down to Chuck, Scola, and Landry being MUCH better than Andersen or Pops. That 4th guy won't play as many minutes. And, I think the Rockets have a pretty good idea of what Pops is, another hustle guy but he isn't nearly as great defensively as Chuck so his offense is an issue. It's frustrating watching Andersen because he has a pretty good post up game. He's much better at that imo than shooting the long jumpers but he doesn't like going down low and avoids contact more than most guards. Adelman and the organization want to see if Andersen will come around because he has the talent, athleticism and skills to. Right now, it's a matter of how tough he is in the paint and how much he cares on defense.
I'm down on Andersen right now. I don't think his so-so scoring (thus far) makes up for the poor rebounding and atrocious defense. I understand that Adelman wants to give him an opportunity to get better, maybe that's the smart approach, but I think Pops is more likely to help us win games right now.
I am convinced that, barring trades, by the 20th game, Pops will have supplanted Andersen in the rotation. Pops IS the best defensive big we have behind Hayes. The rotations should have Hayes and Pops alternating minutes with occasional minutes given to having Scola/Landry out there together when the opponent goes without a post scoring threat (rare). But for balances of defense and offense, Pops should be in there when Chuck is out, and he should be paired with either Scola or Landry. Andersen is going to become trade bait along with Cook, and one of Scola/Landry along with one of Battier/Ariza, to get a big time superstar (Bosh). That is, if we decide to keep McGrady's expiring.

Pops is all dunks. No post and no jumper. Andersen needs to develop strength, learn to use his body when rebounding and work on his mid-range. He seems to have an ugly jump shot especially from 3 which I have not seen him make all year. When Hayes, Scola and Landry miss games Pops will get his shot. I think Hayes is the most likely big to miss games first due to his increased minutes at C.
Completely agree with you. This forum shouldnt be used to trash rookies because they are rookies . Andersen shows promise with a little work on defense and a more consistent shot.
Andersen is in more right now to get him working in the flow of the offense. He is new in the NBA and needs to get up to speed; he’s the type of center that can be real productive in the motion system and we need his offense. If we work him in right away maybe by the end of the season we will see him pump in at least 10-15 points from the bench reliably. Pops, has been around the NBA for a little while and when you call him off the bench you know what to expect. Offensively he works like Hayes; he is going to score cutting to the basket, and getting in the right position. Defensively he has shown he has a good motor and aggressively looks for rebounds and blocks. As long as Pops stays motivated, and productive in practice he will get playing time during the season.
