    Haha exactly.

Its obvious we need a splash, but this could just be a low risk move, nothing to get our hopes up ? i dunno

I wish it was Anderson instead of Pops.

Could be one of those low risk high rewards things we love to do. Some player that Morey has valued.

According to JF, no trade is close. IF that's true, from Morey's above quote my speculation is that maybe Pops complained about not getting any playing time despite flashes of brilliance in the preseason, and coach/gm didn't like it...

i dont get why it's assumed that it means pops complained....that's often the reason given for players who can't crack an NBa rotation and are released instead to give them a chance of making another team or going overseas. Teams usually know if a guy would prefer to be released if he's not in the plans for the season or not, based on his other options. It also doesn't make sense for Pops to be twittering about the upcoming game as if he's enjoying himself if he had been complaining about PT.

    1 game without him?

I also can't see KMart being a Morey type. He is still very good on D but is extremely overpaid for what he does.

He gets paid $10 mil. how is that overpaid? Battier gets paid $7 mil.

Feigan is by far the best source for news about the Rockets. There's nothing to what you're saying; just because he doesn't always go along with every complaint fans have doesn't mean he's in the Rockets' "pocket". Most of the time, the fans have been wrong when they disagree with the team (Steve Francis, Landry's drafting, etc. etc.).

raptors and wizards have released players in the last several days or so. it's not a stretch for this simply to be a cost cutting exercise by the rockets.

anyway, trade scenarios are fun :D

    kevin martin, thomas (+ rodriguez)
    mcgrady (+taylor)
*kings dumping martin alone creates enough 2010 cap space for a $20M signing

    dunleavy, foster, hansbrough, diener
mcgrady, dorsey, taylor (via min excptn)

blount, cardinal, wilkins, rights to rubio
    mcgrady, taylor (via min excptn)

Shane Battier is a better player than Kevin Martin.

Martin does 1 thing to help a basketball team, Shane does many...and I think Shane is slightly overpaid.

Yes he is, I like what he writes, but he is the most politically correct sports writer I have seen, the next time he criticizes the team, may be the first.

He does not write any real dirt types of stories...they are all canned...types ...

He works for the Houston Chronicle, not TMZ. And I find it funny you criticize others for being PC, Mr. Gladhand on other team boards.

He writes about what their doing wrong on the court all the time. Is he suppose to slam RA after a bad game but proclaim him a genius the next win like Justice does with Kubiak?Im glad he doesn't do the "dirt" stories and instead has some journalistic integrity.

Doesn't matter, he could still break a story, but he always...ALWAYS waits until the Rockets approve it.

There is no competition in Houston, so they can afford to be in ther front offices pockets.
