I took it twelve times, that I remember, at least.

I used to live in an apartment complex DIRECTLY behind Frenchy's... oh lord.. the smell would make my mouth water at all hours.. eventually i became immune.. maybe that is why I was disappointed by Frenchy's when I first had it, I had spent almost a year salivating over it, so it was a natural let down.

Quite understandable. That would drive me nuts....or drive me to obesity.

When I'm craving fried chicken, I go to Churches cause it's cheap. When I'm craving sides, I go to Popeyes. When I'm craving white people food, I go to KFC ;)

"Taste of Houston" begins and ends with the Island.

Isn't Church's and Popeye's owned by the same company. I think there is a Grandy's somewhere on the Gulf Fwy going out towards Clear Lake.

RMTex--have you eaten at the "O'Frenchy's" (it is an old Frenchy's) on Hillcroft near South Main. It's much closer to you than Scott street. It is owned by some Asians, but it tastes better than any chain out there. It's made the way I like fried chicken--just enough flour to make the skin taste wonderful--not so much flour that it just tastes like crunchy grease. They have five wings and some dirty rice for $3.99 or a 9 piece dark for $5.99. They also have po-boys and lo mein, egg rolls and burgers. Go figure.

I just go for the yard bird though.

I was thinking of that place myself. Are they both associated? Also, I thought it was on Chimney rock, not Hillcroft.
