You guys need to cut it out. Everyone loves Harden but just wishes he'd stop iso-ing so much. And noone thinks McHale hates Lin, and everyone respects McHale the player (begrudgingly in my case since i HATE the Celtics with a passion) and understands what a tough task he's had this year, but hates his rotations. All those "Harden sucks" guys are wrong but all of you lumping anyone who even remotely comments positively about Lin together and dumping on them are definitely even more annoying and cause more problems. We've got a big game ahead of us and some of us still think that this game is winnable, so let's ditch this negative thread along with the anti-Harden threads unless its constructive. And who here thinks Lin is more talented than Harden? Or that Lin had an all-star year?? Or hates on all of the Rockets players?? I've rarely ever seen Bev bad mouthed or anyone else except Harden's isos and defense and those are understandable critiques on our best player and team. And noone thinks Lin is above criticism, dude makes the dumbest turnovers sometimes and I've seen plenty of people who like Lin yet dog his bad performances without blaming McHale or Harden. Let's move on people and let's go shock the Thunder.
You're wasting your time. He seems a bit... off. Calls to mind a line I read somewhere, "Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience."
Excellent thread, crash. Now we get to see how Jeremy, James and the rest of the guys do on The Big Stage. Put it all out there, guys. Time for the game!
They're looking like scared children out there but hopefully next year we can look back at this series and be glad they got the experience.
Thats very true. I myself plenty guilty of that. Its not to say I'm honorable. TEN YEARS straight I been doing that. Just on this one thing of the "_OF". I actually didnt know there actually IS the "_OH" term made up, or the LOH's. Which is basically exactly what I described in more words in the anti-support thing. Its just something I noticed. But yeah all the thousands of words typed don't ever reach the product on the floor and affect it much, its exchanged with other fans 99.9% of the time. Can maybe only affect ticket and jersey sales. So its just how its gonna be, bickerings to pass the time. Its just if its worth your time or not (to me the -OF thing isnt but whatever floats your boat)
Good Yao comparison. I had to defend Yao time and time again to fellow "fans" that didn't see his value. Yet when I criticize Lin for poor play I've been flat out called a racist (online of course). It's sad that we cannot be objective towards EITHER Lin or Harden without being labeled. Hence the disparity of Harden to Lin threads.
Point blank, JLin isn't athletic enough to compete at a high level. Westbrook is going to torch him and is the worst match up. He continues to pick up the ball in traffic/paint with no idea of what he's going to do. He's put in a difficult situation with a lack of an offensive structure. 12,800 PnR everygame and watching Harden dribble down the shot clock and throw to him for a miracle. If his jump shot is off, his value detoriates because he can no longer go by his defender. Bottom line, Harden perfers playing with PBev and JLin is a definite 6 man PG, high energy, off the bench.
This is just wrong, if Steve Nash can do it so can JLin, he just has to get better at it..... And getting your butt beat by Westbrook (will happen all series) will be good for his growth as a player. Lin has major holes in his game, he needs to just get better, and I have no doubt he will. DD
To be fair, Nash has always been a great shooter even before he became a star. But DD's point was in answering BackNthDay's assertion that "JLin isn't athletic enough to compete at a high level." That assertion is wrong in many levels. First, Lin is one of the fastest among elite PGs. (I am too lazy to dig out the article.) He's not "athletic" only in the sense that he doesn't have great hop. This is actually quite similar to Nash. Nash is very fast and nimble. That's athleticism, even though Nash can't jump very high. Second, athleticism in terms of jumping ability is one of the least important quality for a PG. Not being athletic definitely does not preclude a PG from competing on a high level.
to make a claim like he is "one of the fastest among elite pgs", youre going to need to dig up that article. quite the bold claim, lin is not an elite pg either so im not sure what that even means. lin has "deceptive speed" which is basically a politically correct way of saying "he is pretty fast for an asian." prime aaron brooks was one of the fastest pgs in the league and never was considered elite, he was far and wide more skilled than lin, just undersized for his skill set. lins best skill is driving and dishing, (pickup basketball) thats really it, subpar handles and jumpshot.. the harden deal basically made lin obsolete in moreys plan. idk where this elite pg talk is coming from. bottom line, lin isnt a starter on a contending caliber team,. hes a marketing ploy, nothing more. had he not been cut by the rockets and the knicks not been demolished with injuries. his career would be nearing its end, he would have gotten oien last shot this year and eventually been released. the whole linsanity thing has people confused. a manufactured star by a basketball market that was desperate for anything.
