can't accept what? a 38 million dollar contract??? ....my prediction as to where Bonzi goes after this season, the Pistons and join his Jailblazer buddy Sheed.
I'd love to see him back next year, he absolutely carried us through the TMac injury and was a heck of a player on the boards. I'll miss Bonzi for sure and hope to see him back next year. Before Landry and Scola really emerged, I can honestly say that I saw him routinely give it his all, and I really miss his energy on the team.
Bonzi is what he is, never a diligent guy. Remember his contract was very cheap for a guy his abilities. Yeah, he should b**** spank James for having him traded.
But he speaks truth. One of the biggest reasons why Bonzi is no longer a Rocket is his unwillingness to commit to playing good team defense. It was never more painfully obvious than during the nationally televised home game against the Cavs, when, for the few minutes that Battier was getting a rest, LeBron just ate him alive and scored 7 straight points going straight to the hoop (and drawing a foul on Yao in the process) before Battier came back in and stopped the bleeding for good. Adelman and the Rockets brass assessed the situation, felt like they could get whatever he gave them from Landry and Head, and so they shipped him off. That said, I love Bonzi and I know he was a great locker room guy and well liked by his teammates. I'm sorry to see him go myself, and that he made that comment speaks volumes about the confidence of this team right now. Hope the good times keep rolling in Rocketland all the way till June.
what happens to these guys contracts with the chinese companies? broken with the trade? their value is basically nothing now......
"Remember what I said about this being a better situation .. . " - MJ "Shut Up and smile. . .cause I'm gonna hurt you . . . HURT YOU BAD!!" - Bonzi Rocket River
It's sad, really. Part of the game, I know, but the guy was growing into his role with the Rockets and I think he helped the transition to Adelman's system, when he was "interested." We'll miss him in the playoffs, most likely, but I hope not. The good thing about this trade is more minutes for Landry and Scola, without Bonzi being pissed off on the bench. Bonzi had some flashes of great play. He really did. He should have had those moments more often. Bye Bye, Bonzi, and good luck, just not against the Rocks.
