    The proper way is to bring the papers in a folder. Sit down on the throne, open up the folder, do your work before you have touched/wiped anything. Your business is being taken care of by the other end of your body. Take your time getting it out of your system, THEN, before you wipe or touch anything, put the papers up, put the folder away. Wipe, make sure your hands touch the tp only and not what the other side of the tp is touching, then wash your hands, then carry your stuff back. Keep it nice and inconspicuous and no one will ever know where they've been.

    ...or you could just catch up with a novel, newspaper, or shampoo bottle. One good thing about having a chemistry degree, you will actually have a good idea what a lot of those things are. I have actually played the "how many of these molecules could I draw at least part of" game - not that it's extremely exciting.
