No excuse for a 7 footer averaging less than 10 rebounds a game. Pass.

    Yes.

Marc isn't as dynamic and explosive, but he is a top NBA center without a doubt. It might be a slight drop off in defense, being that Dwight is the best defensive center in the league. But the improvements to our offense would be tremendous.

I am happy with Dwight. I wouldn't trade him for just anybody. But Marc Gasol is one of the best centers in the league and has skills that Dwight just doesn't have.

So in a hypothetical straight up trade, I would take Gasol.

how about a trade Dwight for Lin thread? ;P

I think the past few years Dwight was clearly the best center in the league.

Present day it's not as clear. A case can be made for Jordan, Gasol or Cousins as best center in the league.

Anthony Davis, who played some center before Asik is clearly the best big man or will be way above everyone else in another year or two.

Back on this topic. The thing with Gasol is as both players enter their 30's, Gasol's game is going to age a lot better. He doesn't rely on his athleticism, speed or jumping ability to get his points. Dwight's game on the other hand is going to suffer quite a bit once he starts to slow down. We may be seeing the first signs of it already.

I still dont think I would make the trade but its not that clear cut as Gasol has clearly closed the gap on Dwight.

lol at these trade Dwight threads

I just want Dwight to show some freakin FIRE!. Like dunk on somebody & scream in there face or something. Harden had this problem last year but has evolved into a more animated person by action. Dwight seems like he's always upset or about to cry. I gurantee if Dwight showed more fire it would channel down to other guys. But it'll probably never happened

No way Marc Gasol weighs 265 if Dwight weighs 275. Something's not adding up.

You realize that even a straight-up Dwight for Gasol would probably make Memphis a SIGNIFICANTLY worse team.

You realize Dwight is a 3 time DPOY and has taken his team single handedly to the finals.

What have Gasol and Conley done breh?
