[Poll] Who Would Win Between Rockets and Houston Cougars?

They play elite defense.... Against NCAA teams.

They shoot the ball better.... Against ncca teams.

They are coached better... Against other NCAA teams.

Where someone created a thread asking who the better athlete is between Green and Ivey and claiming that its close because of what they saw in Ivey in Perdue and how fast and explosive he looked.


And then people are like "lol, you are seeing how explosive he is compared to the media NCAA player.".

 

Who has a 2 year contract with the NBA. 98% of the NCAA D1 player pool would run in a heartbeat to that contract if they could nab one.

 

you know why these 19/20 year olds struggle. Because they should actually should still be in college. the only reason why they're drafted is because of what they can potentially do developing years down the road. Now that they're in the nba oh surprise, folks are seeing first hand why they aren't actually proven nba players and are exposed. The peer logic doesn't apply when the current rockets are complete trash against elite proven nba talent. Essentially a college team in the nba

 

you'll see a number of them in 4 months. youll see 19/20 years come in and take the spot of scrubs like nix across the league. you know 19/20 year olds like green/bari

Sports history has taught us over and over that heart and determination can win everything.

 

This current Rocket team is basically a college team too. They will give up a ton of points, wont defend anyone and will miss a bunch of open shots. They dont play an semblance of team ball. Who would defend Sasser and Walker? Sengun might actually have a shot to dictate a game from the post so there is that.

Ivey has been looking pretty good as of late though and he's closer to Jalen athletically then you want to give credit for. EVERYTHING at the college level is just a forecast anyway.

 

They beat 13 NBA teams. This team beat the Bucks, Suns, Sixers etc all with their superstars playing. How many times could a elite D1 team best those teams? How many games would an elite D1 team win ina 82 game season? If you answer is greater than 0 you are off your rockers.

This current Rockers team would be a NCAA all-star team. So it would be like a NBA all-star roster that actually practiced together daily and had off-season training camps going up against a regular NBA team.

 

I say the Cougs. Team ball is much better than the crap we are subjected to from our beloved Rockets. Switch coaches and ALL would change.

Any person who predicted this roster makes the play in is still 100x more knowledge about the sport than someone who thinks the Cougs could beat the Rockets.

Nope. Any take that thinks a NCAA team can beat the worst NBA team is even worse than the the take of this roster being a play in team.

I don't think you have an idea of how bad this take is. It's to a point where a lot of reasonable posters here have a basic textbook guide of posters who's takes should be ignored from here on out.
