Why can't we have both of them starting?

Wesley can come off the bench with his "lockdown" defence, and be a real spark for us in the 2nd unit!

I'm with that. James is taller than Wesley which would help in the backcourt in terms of rebounding.

I cannot agree u with this point. Even we start Mike over Bob , it is a natural /smooth movement. Players can easily accept this. But If JVG will move wesley on bench, that's different story. It may destroy the teams chemstry.

Mike James is a pitbull. Rockets need that in the starting lineup to counter the softness in the frontcourt.

How can this be a debate? This is just one win. How can we talk about not starting Sura. Sura has been EXTREMELY important to this team. We are way under .500 without him. We sucked the last 3 games without him. Everyone played great tonight, but that does not mean you start James over Sura. We need Sura! His rebounding is huge and everything else he brings. James will not shoot 11-15 everynight.

With Yao, Tmac, JH, DW all being able to score, the Rox need Sura's rebound and hustle and hardnose more than James' shooting. Though James have been playing well, he will be the one off the bench.

Keep this in mind. Larry Brown dumped Sura. Larry Brown used Mike James in the playoffs on the way to winning a championship.

Mike James can be used in the 2 guard spot since he can catch and shoot. He has 2 guard qualities. Sura cannot be used as the 2 guard. He has Steve Francis qualities meaning he has to have the ball in order to be effective. However, he is important to the team since he boards.

Bob, I think Mike can be the sixth man off the bench and used in the fourth qtr. Its still a very tough decision.

Bob Sura has never been a PG. The question, IMO, should be:

Who should start at SG - Sura or Wesley?

And no doubt about it I'd pick Sura. Mcgrady can spell some minutes for James and Sura as it pertains to bringing the ball up and whatnot...whilst Wesley and Barry back up Tracy and Bobby primarily, with a few minutes being stolen from James to be theirs as well. But, the best usage of this team's personnel would involve as much of Sura and James as possible.

We talk about how Yao gets no respect, but how about Sura? That guy has been a warrior for us the whole season and suddenly guys think James is worthy after two games.

u guys would really want wesley coming off of the bench? He is probably our best man to man defender on the court, and Coach van Gundy has been praising him for that. With him on the bench, who's gonna be our defensive stopper?

He's not a traditional PG but he does play the position well and we have been playing good with Sura at the PG and Wesley at the SG so I say we keep that and bring James off the bench

Sura can split time between the 1 and 2

Unspoken rule in sports, a starting player does not lose his starting position due to injury. Sura will return to his starting job, JVG will find a way to get James more than the 10-16 minutes he would get by backing up Sura, he is a good solid player. Why didn't we get this guy instead of Charlie Ward during the off season, James is obviously better.

exactly. James is good. but there's no way he is gonna play like this for the rest of the seaon. Sura just brings more to the table. Of course, they both can start. we willl see how it goes.

well, come one. dude, u been here a long time. u know when it comes to respecting players on the team, and dealing with win/loss, this board's flip flopping makes Kerry look like an amateur.

Sura of course. James would be absolutely perfect off the bench! He reminds me a lot of an in control version of Bobby Jackson. Even though Bobby starts, I'm pretty sure they will play alot together in the backcourt. James is the perfect fit for us, absolutely perfect!

Nice comparison of James and Bobby Jackson. I like James off the bench with Barry. I think Sura brings more to the table with his rebounding and assists plus i feel that he has earned the starting job at that position. I am sure both of them will play together at times especially if Wesley is having a bad shooting game. This is not a bad problem to have.
