Once again, if Al Qaeda had a basketball team starring Osama Bid Laden himself and the Mavericks were to play them - I'd root for Al Qaeda. I'd wear an Osama jersey. I'd cheer "DEATH TO THE INFIDELS!". Whatever it takes. So who I'd root for if they played the Spurs isn't even a question to me.
please check your pronouns before making comments like that.... consistent? cmon...the rockets are one of the top 3 or 4 franchises in the western conference of all time...where was dallas when the rockets were consistent through the 80s and 90s? We improved year in and year out. why did u only include those 3 as your bench? what about diop? stackhouse? btw harris would be starting on plenty of other teams...not sure if you guys will be able to keep him when his contract is up. howard made the allstar, terry is a pretty good point.
whoah...back up there, buddy. I said I like the Mavs...I LOVE the Rockets. Also, the Mavs spend a helluva lot more money than we do which helps. Anyways, I hate San Antonio with a passion. I like the Mavs. BUT, I wouldn't dare diss the Rox like that and the only thing that would give me more pleasure than beating the Spurs would be beating the Mavs, mostly b/c Mavs fans are awful (I live in Dallas these days)
If you've ever heard Mav fans talk about the Rockets, you'll hate them with a passion. The sheer scorn, arrogance and disrespect almost makes you want to go find them in their little holes and just beat them up to a pulp. Gosh I hate that team. Puke.

I hear you, bro. I live in Dallas now and was at a bar watching the Mavs/Rox playoff series and had the whole bar yelling at me and throwing stuff at my g.f and I. I had to punch one guy in the face after the game b/c he started talking **** to my g/f (now wife) and called her a b****. she wasn't even cheering. I caved in the left side of his face and didn't feel an ounce of remorse
Didn't I just say ask: Why do you guys keep living in the past? I don't care about the 80's or 90's or whatever. We are in the 21st century and this is what we have to live with. Was Cuban the owner back then? NO! If he was, then everything would've changed sooner. So now that I'm talking about this decade, let's continue. Forget my previous post, we still haven't gotten out of the first round. I don't know what you guys think, but 6 years is a very long time. Secondly, I'm a Rockets fan first. I can use whatever pronoun I want to describe the Rockets. In Mavs forums, I refer to them as the Mavs. In Rockets forums, it's 'we'. It's always been like that and will always be like that. If you have a problem, please ignore. OK, so might as well go ahead and just list the entire Mavs roster. I'm just saying those are 3 guys on the bench who play plenty of minutes. There is also Diop, George, and of course Stackhouse. So you really think they are the best team ever assembled? I thought they would've lost a step getting rid of Finley and then Daniels last year. But no, it doesn't affect this team at all. My point was simple: They have had better players. Look at their 2003-2004 roster - Nowitski, Finley, Jamison, Nash, Walker, Howard, Najera, Delk. JUST IMAGINE THAT TEAM PLAYING TOGETHER RIGHT NOW! But the thing is they have absolutely nothing to show for it. It's that simple. On paper, they have gotten a lot worse roster wise, but considering where they are right now with what they have plus the tough competion they face in the West and only losing 3 games at home, plus haveing 3 multi 12 game winning streak this season inclduing a current 16 game winning streak...I mean they have gone 51-5 in the last 56 games. That is unheard of in the NBA. That's why I am impressed. If you can't see that, then you need to get out of your bubble. It's just great fun watching them play. That's all. I don't know why you guys have a problem with them. Nobody here in Dallas ever talks about how much they dislike the Rockets. It's just you guys. I find it hysterical. You have nothing better to do then discuss stuff like this. You guys are obviously fascinated in some way. Look at how many Mavs threads that have been started here recently. The best one was that one guy who started a thread in the GARM about how the Mavs now have 4 days off before their next game. I mean seriously, what the hell?! Take it easy man

i get what you're saying about the championships 12 years ago. but, you do know that Dallas was the laughing stock of the league for several years before Cuban right? teams successes come in cycles. especially after winning championships, they are more than likely to suck for several years.
along with cuban and the entire front row.... I absolutly hate the Mavs, I hate every single player on that squad The Spurs I dislike as well and there fans can almost be as annoying as the Mavs....almost.....
No, I'm neither blind nor biased. Rockets aren't winning the championship this year. I doubt they will be able to next either. So why not have my second favorite team win it?
Don't get me wrong, I definitely understand that statement. It's completely true! But did you forget what the Rockets did? They wasted all that time with Steve Francis and co. and finally when things were clicking we went back to ground zero. That's why I'm upset. Those years were nothing but a complete waste for us fans. But trust me, Mavs will be around for some time. You never here their star player talk about retirement, and Howard is just now getting into his prime.
Mavs. Definitely. The only person on the Spurs I can't stand is Manu the Flopper. The only player on the Mavs I CAN stand is Josh Howard.
