Hickson is a project. We need a guy that is a sure steal.

Batum could easily be that or Hibbert

Hickson more of a project the Batum? Less of a possible steal than Batum? Batum doesn't even have a jump shot. If a Euro wing that lacks a jumper or a feel for the NBA game isn't a project I don't know what is.

That being said, I would still take any three of those guys you just mentioned. Morey has said he wants an NBA ready guy but we have the kind of depth with our current starters to sneak a project like Batum or Hickson into the mix and not lose a step. Hibbert has been my pick all along even though he doesn't fit the line of thinking I just described.

Because hes a scorer...Its that simple. We need another scorer and thats what he does. He can shoot and he can finish at the rack. Hey everyone said the same thing about Tyashaun Prince when he came out and it turns out everyone was wrong. They said he wasnt strong enough, not quick enough, not good enough of an athlete.

Trust me, he is not the athlete that everyone (ie the bandwagoners and casual basketball fans) credits him for being. He is a good athlete, but no way is he in the league of Batum, Budinger, or Rush. Plus, he really doesn't have a good frame that will allow him to add more than 10 lbs without losing some quickness.

were in my post did I point to him being a good athlete or any type of athlete?
I simply stated that he can score. Can you argue against this? who said he needs to gain 10 lbs? Look at prince, the dude looks like he's been having AIDS since he entered the league.

Well let me ask you: If Rush, Budinger,Batum, or any of those other guys were available to us, would you still pick CDR over any of these guys?

I would pick him over Rush.
I think Batum is too much of a project.
I dont know much about Budinger.
But I have seen CDR play and I think he would be a great addition to our wing needs. He can shoot the three and take it to the hole. I dont think we can go wrong with this guy. But hey I could be wrong, I will trust morey.
But if CDR is there and we pass on him, it better be for someone that will help next year

CDR won't be able to score as well in the pros like he did in college. He can be a good role player, but he definitely doesn't have near the potential that Batum, Budinger, or Rush has. Out of those three, CDR has the shakiest jumper, although its decent enough.

And btw, if you need to see some proof of Chase, here are some videos:

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/7dfgt4kCV4U&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/7dfgt4kCV4U&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

game vs Oregon State (the creator has a lot of similar game highlights, so you can watch some in game footage of Chase and Jerryd Bayless while you're at it): (Chase had 3 dunks in this game btw, one at 1:14, 5:16, and 6:40)

Is it because he's white and pale? The curly blonde hair and the slight goatee scares ya?

Exactly....a slam dunk contest.....doesn't that prove enough that he's more athletic....I'm trying to educate you here.

And I said that you can check out some of the other videos by coniel

LOL, go watch Gerald Green in his slam contests, he can jump out of the gym and shoot the 3 ball all day. You can get some education off that. And I'll take CDR all day over Budinger. No comparison.

I would take Budinger over CDR any day.

CDR is 200 lbs and is going to get pushed around in the NBA. He played well in college because he has so much talent around him. Rose, Dorsey, Dozier, Allen, and not to mention A good coach.

Budinger had Bayless and not much else. If you look at a wide variety of Budinger's highlights compared to CDR's then you will see that he has more of an offensive arsenal.

CDR can't shoot and his % is only so good because he is playing with Rose(Many analyst would agree with this statement)

Budinger can shoot, is athletic, and a complete perfect compliment to this team that desperately needs an athletic wing that can shoot the three ball.

So lets look at what this team needs
    1. A big man that can rebound and shoot a midrange jumper (closest thing out there is Roy Hibbert)

    2. An athletic Wing that can shoot the three consistently and give Tmac and Shane some Rest(Budinger > CDR)

    3. An Point gaurd that is reliable (none of the people we have discussed fit this bill)

    4. A player with a high Basketball IQ in general that will not cause turnovers( This is the main reason we all want a PG and want Luther Head gone...well CDR turns the ball over alot when he drives...doesn't protect the ball well, but Budinger does)

    5. Defense rebounding (Neither is really good at this so we can't compare)

    6. Defense ( Neither is really amazing, but both are a step up from Novak. Slight Edge to CDR. CDR> Budinger)

Budinger is a perfect compliment to this team because he seems like a guy who can hit the Rookie wall and bounce back. CDR is a guy who to me seems like a guy who will hit the wall and become a Luther Head.

So here is the Question. Would you draft a Swingman who is a little on the tweener side that isn't very athletic, but can finish at the rim or do you draft a guy who is athletic, stronger, and is a lights out shooter, but a little more of a defensive liability?

Note: both are better than Novak
