First, I want to get this 1st round monkey off of our collective backs. THAT'S why I want an easy opponent to start things off. I don't think there's anything wrong with this line of thinking when you look at how long it's been since our last playoff series win...

After that, I want us to continue to get better and gel (much like the 95 team did in the playoffs) so that by the time we get to the conference finals, we are a well-oiled machine that no one can stop. We beat the lakers in a classic series for the ages, then roll over the Eastern team in the Finals.

That's all I ask of this team.

Such thoughtful analysis. I like it.

Honestly, if I was a gambling man, the only three matchups where I would not be confident in placing a bet on the Rockets would be the Lakers, Jazz, and Celtics. Luckily, we're not going to have to face the Jazz, so that only leaves the Celtics and Lakers. I actually expect us to beat everyone else, so maybe the poll should be what will you as a Rockets fan be satisfied with.

Of course every Rockets fan ultimately wants a championship. However, this would be an extremely boring place if that's all that was posted. What is annoying some people seems to be genuine, realistic analysis about what this team is likely to accomplish, and how we matchup differently against various opponents.

Honestly, I'd be satisfied with losing to the Lakers in the WCF. I'd be disappointed we couldn't get past them, but wouldn't throw a tantrum. If that happens I would have gotten to see three extra Rockets playoff series and two series victories! I've almost forgotten how it feels to see the Rockets win a playoff series, so seeing them win two would put me on cloud nine.

If some of you are actually satisfied with nothing less than a championship, then I feel bad for you.

    Thank you.

Look, I’ve been a loyal Rockets fan for over 30 years and I want a championship as much as anyone here. But I don’t think anyone’s ‘fandom’ should be challenged just because we are trying to be objective about the easiest possible way to get it done.

Like DCkid says, this would be a pretty boring place if every single post was just “WE’RE #1!!!!!!!!!!111 GOOOOOOOO ROCKETS!!!!!!!!1111 WE’RE GONNA GO 15-0 IN THA PLAYOFF AND WIN EVERY GAME BY 40 POINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

I mean, I appreciate the sentiment, but there’s nothing wrong with being a little objective.

And for the record, I don’t fear the j*zz.

    I want Western Conf. Finals.

I think that would show a great deal of progress for the franchise.

I don't believe that we have enough to overcome the Lakers right now, but we could take them to seven games. It would be great if I were wrong, too.

We can't just keep making the playoffs. It's time to make some more baby steps to get to that next level.

First we need Tmac is stay away from the bench. He's seriously jizzed by the orlando folks. If you stay away and rehab at home, we will sure win. he brings too much bad mojo.

second. once we get pass the first round, we should have much easier time going thru second. The key is that we need to beat our opponents as quick and as soon as possible. no more 7th or 6th games. we need to rest up well and prepare for the lakers.

Honestly, If we get this far to face the lakers, we can beat them with ease. If we get this far this means we have finally figure out how to go to Yao.

Yao pose a matchup problem for the lakers if bryum is in as he can't front or D up Yao as well as gasol. Gasol has the tendence to disappear in playoffs.

we got tow lock down defenders to lockup kobe. We are the only team that is capable of doing so. I bet lakers are most afraid of seeing us out of the 6 other playoffs team.

whoever going to win the west will win it all. I double the celtics are going back to the top. most likely would be the Cavs. They are like the smaller version of lakers.

I like the idea of having T-mac supporting his team. Why not? He's not making the coaching decisions, and as much as many people here dislike him, he is still part of the team.

I don't think he would be a distraction by any means if he's sitting somewhere near the team.

Any thread where the old crew shows up I am IN!

    What do I want?

    1) I want to feel the goosebumps on my skin like I did in 1994 and 1995.
    2) I want to feel the excitement I felt during every game during those two years.
    3) I want to see a "Kiss of Death" shot from Shane Battier to seal our trip to the Finals.
    4) I want Yao to wake the f!ck up, realize his potential, and carry this team in the Finals and be regarded as a legendary member of this proud organization and its legendary stable of Big Men.
    5) I want to cry again after my favorite team of all time wins another Championship for the city that made me what I am today.

Um...yea. If possible....peace on Earth, feeding the hungry, God Bless America, blah, blah, blah and all that other overrated crap!
