    IIRC, Herbie was kind of a pain in the ass for the people who owned him. Most of the jokes were things like Herbie refusing to drive where is owners wanted to drive, or knocking over his owners by smacking his owners on the ass with a door while they were bent over.

    Good for slapstick comedy, bad for anybody that actually ownes him. Nobody wants a car suffering from wild mood swings.
