I'll have to go with Johnny Valentine versus Wild Bull Curry in the taped-fist no time-limit "Texas Brass Knucks" championship fight held in the Sam Houston Coliseum.

i was SOOO pissed that night on Nitro. Scott Hall FINALLY joined the Wolfpac, only for all of them to be reunited again... :(

Scott Hall/Razor Ramon and Kevin Nash/Diesel are still my favorite all time wrestlers. They detracted me to Nitro when they showed up, but was still a WWF fan at heart, and believe me, I was hyped up as hell when they came back as the nWo in the WWE in 2001, but was pissed when Hall got fired again.

as for my fav. match, had to be the the ladder match with Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels

favorite event i've been to? Still has to be the Smackdown after 9/11, especially when they had a dark match of Rock/Steve Austin after the cameras were off.

I remember when Shawn Michaels was a scrub. How do you go from a scrub to good? Did his acting skills improve?

he got help from his ex-partner, marty jannety, who was always putting him over the top.

of course, Michaels actually has great wrestling skills. he sells the show really well.

also, he's got great charisma. that, sometime is more important than actual skill....see the Rock.

How about the ladder match (with a ham sandwich suspended over the ring) between Rosanne Barr and Rosie O'Donnell? That was a classic.

The Flair/Steamboat 2 out of 3 falls match was the best pure wrestling match ever...period. It was over an hour long....no real crazy maneuvers (diving off a table, chairs, etc)...but you didn't want to miss a second of it.

    Bar none...the best match EVER.

    1. TLC II- Because I was there.

    2. Kurt Angle vs. Chris Benoit - Royal Rumble '03

    3. Flair vs. Steamboat - Either match in '89 they both kicked ass.

    4. Steamboat vs Savage - "History beacons the Macho Man!!!!"

    5. Royal Rumble '92 - "This is not fair to Flair!"

    Those were the days.

since it was the only wrestling event i've ever been to, i'm taking The Rock vs Stone Cold at Wrestlemania 17 (or was it X7?). either way, the two biggest names of the era, for the title, both did their own move (at least one multiple times), both did each other's move and got out of it, the crowd seemed pro-Rock but was evenly split enough to make it cool (Austin being from Texas helped). way more electric than i thought it would be when i first got tickets. funny i probably hadn't even watched wrestling for 4 or 5 months beforehand, and i haven't really watched any of it since, but since i liked it as a kid and picked it up for a few years right around when NWO started, i felt like i had to go to Wrestlemania in Houston.

That's not how I recall it.

The Dome was Pro Austin all the way. The Rock got boooooooed. There were some high pitched girl screams for the Rock. There were some "that's one fine mexican guy!" whistles from some ladies.

Even when Austin aligned with McMahon that night, people still cheered Austin.

I think this one is automatically disqualified because it has Karl Malone in it.

I would say Royal Rumble 3 where Demolition drew #1 and #2 and Big John Stud won the whole thing. Royal Rumble and Survivor Series were always my favorites when I was a kid.

hmmm, maybe my section was more pro-Rock and that's what i heard. without having watched much beforehand, i don't really know what the backstory was and who was the fan favorite at the time (i guess stone cold?). oh well, still an awesome match.

and i had always heard about Undertaker and Mankind in Hell in a Cell and knew Mankind got thrown off the cage, but until watching the youtube clip now, i didn't realize he got choke-slammed through the damn thing. how is that guy still alive?

I'm not sure why there isn't some more mention of Kamala the Ugandan Giant, or the Junk Yard Dog.

Of course there was my favorite from the old Channel 39 days of wrestling, Mr. Wrestling II. He wore a mask but he had a hairy chest and most of it was gray. He was obviously 50 years plus, but they never mentioned it and kept talking about him as if we here a legitimate contender for the belt.
