I agree with him though. If I could go back I'd put either Creedence or RHCP on there...

I'm more interested in a greatest American modern rock band poll of say the past 15 years.

Contenders would be: Nirvana, Soundgarden, Interpol, White Stripes, SOAD, The Strokes, Sublime, Foo Fighters, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Green Day, Wilco, RHCP, Jam of Pearl and a few other bands I can't think of right now.

Feel free to add to the list.

No, I'm quite aware I'm one of the only people on here who likes Nickelback.

I just wish people would pick a choice from above as there "best of what is there", and post their opinion below.

Isn't that the true, we are very ecclectic, which you can see by other kicking everyone's ass. Makes me wonder what is different between us and the Brit's. I think they study a lot more poetry and have a slightly better feel for the English Language, plus their school models are slightly different than ours.

I blame it on Suburban Culture...

REM has to be on the list.

They were the first post-70's band that most Americans heard. They were a big deal and helped define a new genre of rock.
