[Poll] Grade Stone’s first draft

Exactly. I’m of the opinion that you should always draft BPA. Fit can be address through trades/FA.

 

With the hand that Stone was dealt last season, you honestly couldn't have asked things to play out any better with our draft. Trading Westbrook for Wall will always be suspect to me however, though we did get our disgruntled stars and Tucker to the teams they wanted. That will hopefully score us some brownie points with players.

 

This is worth a watch. The whole beginning is about the Rockets.

Someone said we drafted kobe, pau, and artest in the same draft and now I can't shake those comparisons for that haul

 

Stone did very well.

 

TBD of course, but on paper: A+. Now he needs to get a couple of the vets out the way.

Seriously, I am even more pumped now than I was last night…we got high floor guys that also have so much potential

we may still be bad next year, but we have young guys at guard and big that have the potential to become stars

That was me that said that. And don't forget Dennis Rodman (Garuba). This is the time of year for hyperbole and exaggeration when it comes to projecting 19 year old's careers.

Man, looking back at all that gleeful enthusiasm over the ‘franchise altering, A++’ draft…

If Clutchfans had known back then that a full eight months later, this young core would have won zero championships and not yet had a single HOF inductee, we all could have been rightly pissed at Stone from the beginning, instead of being filled with all that false hope of a promising start to the rebuild.
