Poll: Getting Down to the wire, what would you prefer we do?

Discussion in 'Houston Rockets: Game Action & Roster Moves' started by Shark44, Jul 17, 2021.

?

Here's your options, purely as a Rox fan which 2 choices are your preference?

  1. Stay at #2 Draft J. Green

  2. Stay at #2 Draft E. Mobley

  3. Stay at #2 Draft J. Suggs

  4. Trade up to #1 Draft C. Cade (No matter the cost)

  5. Trade down to #3 or #4 for additional draft capital in coming years

  6. Trade #2 plus other assets for a young star (e.g. Kat)

As a Rockets fan I would prefer it not get down to the wire. We don't do good with wires.

Great Poll, love the data !
Would like to see one just between Jalen Green or Evan Mobley. Honestly, for me I am still torn between both.

    Get Cade or Mobley.

    Get Cade AND Mobley

In all honesty, I don't think Pistons is trading their pick. Unless Stone is offering KPJr or Wood + #2, they're not budging.

There's what Rockets want vs what's realistic. Getting Cade is on the less realistic side.

I voted trade down . For me , it’s too close a call between all 3 . My current upside ranking is Mobley>Suggs>green and the floor being the inverse.

I’d prefer to trade with Cleveland for 3 , giving us a choice over 2 of them .

if we stay at 2 , I kinda like Suggs . I think he’s the biggest fit with the talent already on the roster and if he improves his shooting he’s a great pick regardless.

The question is would Cleveland or Toronto give us anything to move up ?

The Rockets are a bit unlucky, despite having the good fortune of ending with the 2nd pick.
I don't think Cade will fall to 2 or another position. He's much more polished than anyone else. There is no need to sell the farm for him though.
I wouldn't be surprised if Houston traded with the Raptors for Suggs and a pick at the end of the day.

I honestly don't have a strong opinion either way. Many years ago I got very invested in Danny Fortson and Marcus Fizer while they were in college. I learned then that I am not a professional scout. I was leaning Green for a while (thinking Cunningham was completely off the table) and now I'm back to leaning Mobley after listening to so many top evaluators rave about him and getting a better grasp of his stunning analytics. But I will be excited if we get any of those guys and just hope we picked the right one.

Oh I would trade #2 (and more) for Luka, Trae, Ja, Zion, or Tatum in a second.

If Cade is the ONLY superstar in this draft, then you really should trade up for him if you can.

If we did that, I would think there's at least 2 or 3 picks coming back with #4.

The Rockets have a lot of leverage here at 2, in this draft.

I'm fine with trading the #2 pick for a young star (not KAT!).

I prefer Cade, but not at any cost.

I prefer Green over Mobley, still 60/40. Still too much variance with Mobley IMO. I think Tilman would prefer Green's marketability.

MJ and Kobe both were 9 time all defense selections. Let that sink in. Jalen Green, even if he reaches his full potential is never going to match those guys on that side of the ball. It's not fair to him and it's disrespectful to those legends to compare a 19 year old scorer to those guys.

I don’t think Cade is so much better that we should hand over a bunch of picks. I would like to see the Gordon trade to get the 13th happen.

Get the same tier player at #4 plus other assets. We need help everywhere.

Tilman will either draft Green for the $$$ highlights or trade up for Cade who is also flashy.

Honestly again it all depends what those other picks could honestly net us. We also don't have a bunch of free agents knocking on our door. We need to start with a foundation piece. It starts with a star. If Cade is it then so be it. There is something that truly bothers me about Cade and that's his attitude. He won't work out for any other team and it really seems like he has an ego the size of a house. Then you have Green who is not only athletically gifted but has this desire to be great. He also seems to be a work horse. I want the guy who is willing to put in the work. It's not how they start it's where they end up.

Disagree.....Jalen is every bit as quick and has as good a leaping ability as those mentioned.

You believe what you want and I will believe what I want.

I watch MJ and Kobe well, they got favorable calls and so will Jalen.
Superstars of the game get treated well.....as LeBron has been.
