    this sample isn't really what I would consider "cacophonous".. merely annoying..

    really.. what makes them truly grating to my ears.. is their vocalist..

    Well, even though Molly's the only one I've seen live and they have some great songs ("Devil's Dance Floor" and "Drunken Lullabys" are personal favorites), I still prefer the Murphys overall.

    BTW if you want local Irish rock, try The Blaggards. Great music and the lead singer, Patrick Devlin, is a really nice guy despite looking like Ted Nugent's crazier younger brother.

    Pogues by far followed by Dropkick for nostalgia reasons - I jammed to "Skinhead on the MBTA" circa 1996.
