all the articles I can find mention rupture and I was under the impression that 'rupture' signified the worst possible scenario, didnt know there were grades to the injury. Im not expecting a Dominique kind of recovery (who knows) but guys like Rudy Gay, Wesley Matthews, Kobe, Chauncy Billups and Elton Brand all came back from the injury to be relatively productive.
Yea its not like John Wall is an athletic guard that relies on explosiveness and speed to get to his spots. He's gonna be just fin.... oh wait
In lieu of having an "athletic and explosive" guard in Westbrook who could get to his spot and make shots? LOL
I think all guys with that injury have to modify who they are as players. Durant is a jump shooter mainly, so I dont think his playstyle will be too affected personally. I think it comes down to how much heart the individual has into wanting to come back. I've seen some pretty inspirational pick up games by Wall. Havent seen too many workout videos from Durant who is on a shorter recovery. I dont really know what to expect, but if Wall is for sure a lost cause according to some then those same people should feel the same way towards KD.
Thats the funniest thing i've read in a long time. Inspirational pick up games made me spit out water.
I would think Houston has done it's due diligence on his recovery before making this move. He has had 2 years of rehabbing on the injury so that is a good thing. He has looked good in the pickup videos that are out there and I would think he has a mentality to prove he is back. I think he will be a better playmaker for others on the floor than Russ was. I always felt Russ was a 'get his score first then pass if that could not be done' (often leading to TOs). I like Russ' energy and fire, but at times he was a negative out there with his lack of shooting and questionable decision making. Wall is more of a true PG, while Russ is a SG playing PG. So in my opinion that is the difference between the two. Having Wall with Wood and Cousins and others sounds like a better fit (the ball will move better).
for those of us that actually understood what they're seeing on the floor, absolutely. The casuals who have no idea what they're talking about, nope
Im glad you found some humor there .. when you run into some good video of KDs workout(s) make sure to post it so I can provide you with some further comedic relief! I guess playing basketball is not a good way to show the world you arent injured. Shrug.
This team has so many injury prone players it is kind of scary. One thing to note is that Warriors had a lot of injury prone players when they started winning their championships so it can happen. Spaghetti ankles Curry, Livingston, and several others all had a history of injury.
Wait and see is the best option. I don't think the Rockets got marginally better with the trade but I don't think they got worse. Westbrook has a higher ceiling but a lower floor than Wall. I think Wall fits better with the current team, all though Westbrook pushing the pace is always a good thing. It really just comes down to Wall's health as everyone else has noted.
Well we know Westbrook isn't going to get us a championship. I don't have a lot of expectations with Wall. At least he still has the benefit of the doubt. We'll find out soon enough. The worst contracts in the NBA: Russ Westbrook John Wall Chris Paul Andrew Wiggins We are so honored to have three of those in Rockets uniform in three consecutive years.
