I wish Michelle Obama would run but I would vote for any Democrat at this point. I don't trust anyone in the GOP who helped him spread his lies and kissed his butt for 4 years. The coup was the final straw for me. After their desperate attempt to overturn the vote I lost faith in the whole party. Even if Trump gets locked up or dies before 2024 I will vote Democrat again for the second time in my life. Trump turned me Democrat.

Of course I would when we are talking about who I would vote for. I said anyone in the Democratic party because they would run against Trump as the GOP favorite. The guy admires evil Putin. My whole point was that I used to vote GOP in the past, before the party changed drastically. Too many unqualified youngsters, radicals and crazies in there now who spew out hate, propaganda, and lies.

I could change the thread title to include Trump if that would help further the conversation ;)

I really don't care what you do as long as you don't make snarky or personal attacks towards me because we don't agree on parties.

I like her and I really like Cory Booker......I have no time for Warren or Amy or even Bernie although I think they make a nice core to help, I really don't want Joe B or Harris. Sad to say but we need someone forceful who can rebuke all the lies the GOP will spread, I dont care what anyone says you cant bring up the GOP without bringing up Trump because the base is his, always will be. Every GOP contender is selling there soul to have him endorse them. Even if the Jan 6th commission finds that trump and his minions did incite the insurrection, the gop base wont care they will say its a witch-hunt, my only hope is there are legal ramifications and even then you would have a trump mouthpiece using this to promote the "radical Left" has an agenda to keep maga silent.......I have a feeling we will lose badly in the mid terms and it will then be 2 years of nothing getting done and basically we will have 2 years of smear campaigns, no one will be able to get anything done and the American people will suffer because we cant get the 2 sides to agree on what color the sky is

The Democrats should worry more about getting through the midterms rather than deciding who is going to run in 2024. For that matter they should worry more about trying to get more legislation passed now than the midterms.

He might not win in the general, but I don't think there will be any serious competition for Biden in the primary if he's running. All suggested names have at least one of the following problems: (a) already got spanked by Biden in the last primary, (b) won't be willing to rock the Democrat establishment by challenging a sitting president, (c) wouldn't have a platform sufficiently distinct from Biden's, or (d) don't have the necessary name recognition. I won't be worrying about alternative candidates until Biden dies or has a significant turn of health, Biden says he won't run, or the Biden Admin suffers some sort of cataclysm in this term. Slow burns like economic problems might hurt in the general, but not the primary.

Democrats' arrogance continues, and Dems continue to eat their own

California Democrat says Biden campaign ‘arrogant’ after debate

    https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4755432-scott-peters-biden-campaign-debate/

    excerpt:

Rep. Scott Peters (D-Calif.) says the Biden campaign has been “arrogant” since a shaky debate performance by the president last week.

“As much as I love Joe Biden, in those swing states, he's having a hard time,” Peters said Wednesday in an interview with CBS 8 San Diego. “We needed a boost from Thursday. We didn't get it. And the campaign has been very, I think, arrogant in their response.”

Biden’s first debate performance raised alarms among some Democrats and supporters, with the president struggling to string ideas together or rebut former President Trump’s many false statements. That’s created increasing chatter about whether Biden should end his presidential campaign and let a different Democrat take on Trump.

Peters didn’t go as far as to say he wants Biden off the ticket — as three other House Democrats already have — but said it’s an option that should be left open.

“We want to know what [the Biden campaign's] plan is to win this election and turn these numbers around,” he said. “If they don't have a plan, then I think we have to move in a different direction.”
