This is the equivalent of writing "I don't know anything about American history prior to 1980" on your forehead.

And with that, what rights will be on shaky grounds? Every area that is related to privacy, equal protection, or liberty. Gov regulating personal life as States see fit is the next logical step.

Not much, the country has been affected by the incredible propaganda efforts from the right which makes these issues minor. Rights don't matter anymore what matters is that you don't have to wear masks, your kids don't learn about transgenderism, and that we keep the brown people out of the country.

The far right is on the rise and will seek to consolidate power to hold on to it for years to come. But like anything else, things ebb and flow. It would not surprise me if this court overturns abortion rights, gay rights, civil rights, and voting rights. Ultimately what will happen is the right will have an iron grip on the gov't, but the economic conditions will worsen to the point that they will lose their grip in a spectacular fashion. That process may take a decade though.

Yes, that's the true intent of the conservative agenda. To make everyone live a conservative life dictated by Christian culture.

Not a peep from the right about this being judicial activism of course. They are literally deciding the laws that will govern millions.

It's closer to 80% whom approve of abortion under the following circumstances:

    1) Danger to the mother's life
    2) Fetus non-viable
    3) Incest/rape

It drops down to 50% when you get into 'elective' abortion territory.

We're entering "**** around and find out" territory for Republicans.

Don't need one. Congress needs to get rid of the filibuster and make a law stating abortion is legal. Done.

Either term limits or at least cap the age which they can serve.

Then I am sure you agree child support laws should be rewritten.

    HALF!

The cost difference between a 1 bedroom apartment and how many bedrooms needed for the amount of children - Half

    Childcare-Half
    Food- Half
    Clothes-Half
    Extra Utilities-Half
    Insurance-Half
    Medical Bills-Half
    Extra curricular activities- Half
    School lunch-Half
    Any school related expenses-Half

OH don't pay your half 3 times in a rolling 12 month period? Go to jail go directly to jail.

Now while you are sitting there the state has to pay your half.

This is one the most ghoulish things anyone has ever said on this BBS. Y-i-k-e.s.

Not only that, but once the child is born those same Republicans don't give a damn if it is without healthcare if the parents can't afford it. Save the fetus and screw the child.

The pessimist in me thinks that whatever the poll numbers might be today on abortion rights, views will re-adjust quickly according to the “new normal”.

Are you saying that the USSC has a right to privacy? Or is it just the old, rich, white men on the USSC that do?

Or maybe he just thinks a judge shouldn’t allow outside intimidation to influence their legal opinion in either direction?

A conservative USSC decided Roe v Wade.

    True story.
