if it were just decency, it wouldn't outrage so many people. of course you don't throw racial slurs at people...that's decency. but when you revise history so as not to offend someone...or base policy on not hurting someone's feelings...etc that's where you have a problem. common sense can be useful.
Exactly. It's not as if the names are synonymous with each other. Before political correctness, there was still decency. I don't use racial or ethnic slurs, but not because its not pc, but because I don't feel the need to. It's not as if I am trying to censor myself and use a more sterile and less offensive term. I don't, and refuse to, call anyone a "hypen-american", however. I am not really sure how or where this started, but I think its pretty ridiculous and has gotten way out of control among the politically correct set. I don't see that as common decency, myself. Does anyone here actually PREFER to be called a "hypen-american"?
