I'm not up to date on the Kennedy story. I've had some personal tragedy to deal with lately that's taken a more prominent role in my life than partisan politics in Washington. I don't recall ever defending something he's said about Iraq.

I thought we were all asked to be more civil. I guess the request did not apply to you, since we are just plain lucky to have you post here.

Just out of curiosity, and to no one in particular - why is Bush so popular in the military? It is genuinely difficult to find anyone who would even consider voting Democrat in the military, and servicemen are almost invariably among Bush's strongest supporters.

Now, if all Bush is doing is pissing away our lives, why do we like him so much? Are we all just stupid? (don't answer that glynch, we know what you think of the military) Serious question - why do we support him so much?

It's a little more successfully avoided when people manage not to broadbrush liberals or conservatives every time their argument's not working. Both sides do it, but treeman started it here with that tired old 'wanting Saddam to win, wanting US troops to fail, hating Bush, hating America' crap. I don't think you actually believe anyone on this board wants Saddam to win, so why say it? It inevitably has this effect on a thread. You wouldn't need ignore nearly as much if you'd stop trotting out those old, incendiary lines.

Funny thing coming from the person who actually lost the bet.

It appears that you are the one with the "integrity" issue.

Hey look! I can change my sig, too.

You are a slimy snake, No Worries, and I refuse to be civil with you. You represent the worst of the Democratic party, and I will take pleasure in ridiculing your conspiracy theories and exposing your lies whenever possible. .And, thanks to my sig, I will tell everyone who reads me just how much integrity you really have.

You should be on my ignore list, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Ah, yes, I'm the one who lost the bet. I mean, that centrifuge has no use at all except in producing weapons-grade nuclear material, and could have no possible use except in an active - not just theoretical - nuclear program. It is proof fu*king positive that I was right and you were wrong.

But I expect you to deny it. It would be out of character for you to fess up to it.

(personally, I don't even care about you leaving - I just want you to admit you were wrong - something that, unlike me, you have never had the integrity to do, even when it is so obvious that you are wrong)

I guess you are trying to redefine the meaning of the work "active". Methinks an active nuclear program would not keep its centrifuge prototype buried in some guy's backyard. That is just crazy!!!

Methinks that someone without a nuclear program would not have working centrifuges. Perhaps?

That was not the bet. The bet was that Saddam had an ONGOING nuclear program. One prototype centrifuge buried in some guy's backyard for 10 years does not make an ongoing nuclear program. Perhaps?

The only people here who are remotely endangering our troops here are the leftists of the left party who are rooting for Saddam so that they can see Bush defeated in 2004.

This is easy for Treeman to say. If he was actually over there he would realize that it is the Iraqi guerillas who are more than remotely endangering our troops. He wouldn't say such foolish things. He would reallize that the danger on the ground is actually real and is not caused by rimrocker or the media.

Batman makes a good point. Treeman and his fellow neocons have it backwards. Many want Bush to lose so much because he lied to start this stupid war. They didn't start thinking the war is stupid because they want to beat Bush.

This idea of not going to war without solid support was learned by the military leaders such as Powel Schwartkoff and others. Unfourtunately the neocons who deceived us into this war, who are mostly chicenhawks, never learned this lesson.

They get upset when there is widespread opposition to another one of their relatively unpopular wars and resort to calling everyone a traitor who disagrees with them.

And now is the time when I must tell you that you have 4200+ posts (and that is in spite of your decent-lengthed layoff a while back). You, sir, are an internet using fool.
