Police: Woman killed her infant, ate part of brain

Jesus...I was horrified when I read about this yesterday and all the article I saw mentioned was the murder and decapitation, nothing about the cannibalism. Absolutely awful story...

 

i've lived with a paranoid schizophrenic. trust me, what they "hear and see" is very real to them. it's not something i would wish on my worst enemy, except maybe the Tennessee Titans.

before she was diagnosed with the disorder, she shot up the house because she thought someone was attacking her brother. this was my g/f's sister. my g/f took her in and there were many a sleepless nights and when i did sleep it was with one eye open.

 

Hmm.... that's slightly odd.

 

This had to happen in Atlanta.

Oh god, reading that thread title makes me sadder than getting socks at Chrimmas! WTF is this world comming to?

 

She would have no problem pleading insanity. I'm convinced already. I vote for capital punishment. Disgusting.

 

I was sick to my stomach when i read this last night

i mean what would drive any person, let alone the child's mother, to do something like this.

it still hurts my stomach when i saw it again this morning.

 

My god, I'm just in utter shock, it's just horrible beyond understanding!

 

All I hope for was the baby died very quickly and little pain. Rest in Peace little one.

 

One of the saddest parts of all this is... even though it's horrifying... we see so many of these stories nowadays that it's not mind blowingly shocking anymore. I was still sick to my stomach but it does not surprise me it happens.

 

You know I am not a super religous guy but I have my faith and all but from time to time there are things that make me question certain aspects of my faith while others strengthen my belief. This story makes me wonder why? how? really?...makes me sad until I realize this baby had no chance and atleast now he is in a MUCH better place then all of us who have to walk with people like this piece of trash...

 

They need to do way instain mother> who kill thier babbys. becuse these babby cant frigth back?

 

Actually I'm in between religions right now. I was born and raised Catholic but stuff like this makes me wonder.

There is a saying in all religions in that God has a plan for everyone. This basically states Gods plan for this child was to die this way.

 

Brings up tons of questions doesn't it?....Like I said I make myself feel better to know the Child is in a far better place then we are.

 

I just saw pics of the baby, mother, and father on Yahoo! As a new father myself, I just lost it. Good night.

To me, this is not as disturbing as someone who "only" murdered their kid without all the cannibalism and gore. This woman peeled off her infant's skin, ate parts of his brain, and was clearly insane. Once you get past a certain threshold of poor mental health, you're liable to do just about anything. It also wasn't methodically done as serial killers tend to do. But when a relatively functional person murders their kid, that's a far more disturbing psychiatric study. Where was the trigger point?
