Besides, the CD's I download are usually music I have on record (with no turntable) or cassettes. Like the other post said, I've already bought it once.

I havent bought a CD in about a year since I have had this high internet connection in my dorm room. I dont see why I should by a album roughly a 15 minute drive to best buy. When I can have it in 15 minutes w/o getting out of my chair. I have bought over 100 CD's throughout high school I have given the music community enough. Besides if you want to make a CD with various songs and artists for your GF whats wrong with that? What about videos I have many episodes of the "the simpsons" that I couldnt ordinary get I mean how often do they show the daryl strawberry episode? Maybe when I have a real job and can afford to shell out 15 dollars a pop for a CD my attitude will change. Until than I will keep on downloading or stealing songs off the net. Judging by "mtv cribs" the musicans are doing just fine no need to worry they will survive

No, bad point. Just because they have enough money doesn't mean they shouldn't be paid. Next time I go to the Doctor, when I get my bill from the insurance company I'm going to write them saying, "but don't you see he's driving a porshe, why does he need my money." Its not an excuse not to pay.

Whatever happened to supply and demand market forces?
If companies are making money on music that only computer-illiterate purchase (teeny-boppers, old people), or conscience-driven people buy (contemp. christians), or people without computers buy, which direction do you think these companies will take the industry towards?
I can envision a time when the only music this generation will want is either retro remixes or garage-band nobodies.

Um maybe you should lighten up a little...am I missing sarcasm? No. You are just a dork, with little understanding of all the new music you get to hear by swapping files. About .005% of music I want to hear is played for free on the radio internet or some FM station.
