That's nothing. I had K 7 with the big blind and everyone just calls so I check to see the flop. The flop comes out K 5 K. So I put a bet of $50 hoping I get someone to call. Two people did and the turn is Q. No flush out there. So I co ahead and put $150 out there to take it down now. I get called. Now I'm thinking....what is this guy holding. Maybe another K. I go ahead and call the raise. 5th street is 7. So I'm thinking "money card", I got K's over 7's for the boat. I bet $150 again and he raises at this point I'm thinking sucker!! I call and I felt like Mike in Rounders....I didn't even see it. He turned over K Q. He had K's over Q's to beat my K's over 7's. He had me from the start. I got KGB'd.

Once I was holding A 2, and flopped a boat. I check it off to see what other people think of it, and the guy after me bets big. I know he has the Ace, so I follow him through the turn and river matching what he's throwing out there. River brought out a queen. His boat of aces over queens beat me.

I was in a tournament one time, and this other guy and me are going back and forth raising preflop. Finally, I go all in. He takes a lot of time and then calls. We both flip over pocket queens. Talk about a lot of work for nothing.

Funny you bring that up. I was playing in a $50 single table tourny at PartyPoker and went all in on pocket kings and sure enough got called with pocket kings. But get this.....4 spades came out and he had the king of spades. That was a hard loss to take.

A Question for you guys ...

I will be going to Vegas at the end of the month and I am interested in playing poker there.

How much money do you need to actually have to sit down at a table. Are there tables where you can just use like $100?

    Hi,

Generally you should sit down with enough money to cover 20 times the big blind, so if you're playing 1/2 limit, you should bring at *least* $40. Personally, I would try to sit down with 50 times the big blind, if you can afford it, because you can easily lose several hands in a row if you're unlucky.

I actually played the game in school today since there's nothing to do now that school's almost out. I won everything...of course it was like 1.00 in pennies and I had to give the money back...but still, what a rush.
