OK, y'all, it is time to see if we really do have the support for the tournament. Anyone who wants to be a part of the poker tourney needs to make arrangements to meet me in the next couple of weeks to buy in. Two weeks from today, October 5th, I will give an update on how many have bought in, which will give us a preliminary look at how many tickets we can buy. If we get over 30 or so, I plan to run the tourney over several days with each day set to produce five people for the final table, but if we are under 30 or so, we should be able to do the whole thing on one day. If we do a one day tourney, it will happen on Saturday, October 16th at noon. If it needs to be split up, the initial tables will be played October 9th and 10th with the final table the following week on October 16th. Here we go!
Anyone who wants to play, please send an email to my moniker at gmail dot com and let me know how you would like to get payment to me. Mail will be fine (money orders or checks, it should go without saying that you should never mail cash) through next week or we can meet up physically, though I don't get up into town that much so it would be best if you can come down to Clear Lake. I will make plans to go up into town to visit a friend this weekend, probably on Saturday the 25th, if you can meet me in the Galleria area.
So far, there have been no payments and only 4 people have committed since I announced that we needed to begin getting fees in. If anyone is still interested, you need to contact me at my moniker at gmail dot com to arrange payment details.
Last chance, people. Anyone who is interested needs to make payment arrangements immediately or the tourney will be canceled. The minimum will be 6 players, which will buy 2 tickets for a 6 game package. We already have two confirmed and paid players, but will need at least four more to make this a go.
okay when is this tourney and where..i guess i lost that info somewhere in the thread..cuase i was interested before.
If it ends up as a one day tourney (which it appears it will), then it will be on October 16th (Saturday) at noon at my house in Clear Lake. Once I receive payments, I will forward directions and rules via email (if you mail me a check) or by hand (if we meet in person).
Andy for us dummys would you mind putting the date of the poker tourney in your sig so we won't have to scroll through 4 pages to try and find it. Hell I'm still looking for it!
Have your partner cover you that day. Unless we can play at the bar. I don't know the legalities of that, but if we are playing for prizes instead of money, it might work.
