Phil Helmuth routinely arrives late and allows blinds to be taken from him for a while. The cards do get dealt to the position and automatically folded.
Yep. I can only assume that this was the reason he didn't even win a single bracelet in the WSOP this year. If he does that for luck, maybe he needs to change.
Or maybe it's just really hard to win a bracelet. He's been showing up late for years, and he has the most bracelets out of anyone in the history of the event. Not to mention that the blinds are so small at the beginning of those events, he prolly loses like 100 or 200 chips out of thousands.
I'd vote No-Limit especially with 20+ players or we willl be at Andy's house all weekend. How are your wife's breakfast making skills?
Yep. We can't go much longer than 6 or 7 hours or we will have to find a new place to play and I will have to find a new place to sleep.
you guys should sign up to www.chipleaders.com this is a friendster site for poker players. you can post home games on here and get more players too. its free to sign. btw, this is my site. also, let me know if you guys have any friends who are graphic designers that play poker. i need email flyers made for a tournament we will have here in Los Angeles. we will need lots of these every 2 weeks so the person could get some continuous work out of this. email me @ david@chipleaders.com if you know of anyone and next time i am in Houston, i will defintely joinin on yoru game...
I'll play as long as something doesn't come up. And yes, Phil Hellmuth is a jerk and I enjoy watching him lose.
Just a thought, Andy, you should somehow get the money beforehand so you don't take a loss on the tickets. Or get the tickets afterwards.
Or you could simply pay out a percentage cash prize to the top finishers in the tourny. It would be much easier and is legal as long as the house doesn't get a cut.
What I would like to do is have the buy-in a few days before the tourney in order to get a hard headcount and get everyone committed. We could do the buy in someplace downtown and I will go from there to the TC to pay for the season ticket package. Unless there are objections, I will hold the tickets for the couple of days until the tourney and the pick will happen immediately following the conclusion of the tourney. Shady: Yeah, but then it's just another game for money. I was actually considering filming it unless there are objections because I have been thinking about how to make a home poker tournament fun to watch on TV. I think it might be interesting to have a bunch of Rox fans (or any other fans for that matter) playing for tickets. With the proper tweaking, we might even be able to present it as a halftime segment or even a pilot for a reality TV show.
Can I bring my 60 something mother... She has a lot of trouble finding good no limit Seven Card Stud games in her seniors group. (Last time she played serious poker she came in 3rd in the money and second in the beer chugging contest.)
