Send an email to my moniker at gmail dot com or through the board and I will forward directions to my house and phone numbers. I just want to have an email from you to serve as a preliminary registration so that I can get a rough headcount. No limit hold 'em, $25 buy in, no rebuys, no add ons. With the blind structure the way it is, I will be highly surprised if the tourney lasts longer than 4 hours or so (3-7 p.m.), but there is the possiblity (really tight play, very even chip stacks, etc.) that it could last until 8 or 9.
I doubt anyone hear is THAT serious of a player that you don't stand a chance. If you want to go, I'd say go. About the re-buys: Andy is right. We'll have enough to play side games for the eliminated. Usually, you can do a $20 buy in and make the blinds stay the same at 0.25/0.50. (This is a standard sit & go table format). I like to put a cap on how much chips you can have in play so no one can bully the low stacks or re-buys. $50 is usually cool against a $20 re-buy. Just my 2 cents worth. Like I said in my email, I'll bring extra chips and a 6' folding table and hopefully extra chairs. Rocket's Red Glare and I may ride together or follow. Bman
I wouldn't call myself a "noob," but I am also nowhere NEAR a "pro." The nice thing about a tourney is that you know exactly how much you are putting at risk ($25) and there is no way to go over that. At the very least, it will give you some valable experience in live tournament play. I encourage you to attend if you enjoy playing.
The cash game I usually run is played with $0.25/.50 blinds and we play pot limit so that you can't just go ape$hit on the betting to bully people out. I thought about doing a "capped no-limit" game, but then you have to keep track of how much you put into each pot and the logistics become too hairy. Pot limit seems to work pretty well for the cash game.
Those cards (2, 7) are good in Poker right? On that note, andymoon can I please register for 2 spots for myself and a buddy named Zach.
On the guests note...if my mom gets a wild hair can I bring her along. She isn't exactly dead money...she can play some hold em. Might be the source of Clutchfans legends if a 65 ish woman takes the top prize.
Around 20. However, I am only actually COUNTING on about 10 as they are the people I have over regularly and I know that they will show. Clutchfans events are notoriously inconsistent in attendance. Behad hosted a bball run that drew about 20, but at least 30 said that they were "definitely" coming. Then, we put together a touch football game for which 20 people committed and then about six showed. How about a roll call. How many CF.NET members are planning on being at my house between 2:45 and 3 tomorrow afternoon?
Well my life is a little Chaotic for me to say 100%....but I am over 90% certain to be there...just cause I love poker (if only I were better at it). As for my mom it sorta depends. Sometimes she likes to do these kinda things. Probabaly closer to 50%.
