Poisonous toothpaste the last straw?

    It wouldn't be unusual to export crap you don't serve in your own country - look at Heineken.

    What exactly would these tighter restrictions consist of? Would we spot-test the toothpastes flowing into this country? I'm not sure if there is a good workable system to be had on restrictions, short of banning Chinese products, which isn't smart or feasible.

    I do think we should lean on the Chinese to improve their own controls. China already wants to do it, and they are trying, but some market pressure from the US may help to keep them motivated. The companies are over there, so this a job for the Chinese FDA and the Chinese court system to handle.

    Sorry but no need for me cause I don't buy toothpaste from the dollar store or some local mom and pop joint. I don't buy any FOOD or MEDICINE labeled made in China period. Go out and buy yourself some good toothpaste from the a respectable pharmacy or food store. Enough said.

    not really, i think it might have been last year but some chinese co selling baby formula for their domestic market were selling fake formula which resulted in a few deaths.

    I hope China doesn't export the liquor spiked with methanol.
